'58 Lincoln Premier- Can it be cool?

I may have run across a very cheap deal on a very complete '58 Lincoln Premier. I've never pondered building one, and God knows I don't need another project, but the price is low and it would be saving it from languishing in a field. I'm having no luck finding images online of kustom or rodded '58-'60 2dr Lincolns. Anybody have some photos, or maybe some good ideas?
    Thanks!

  5. They can be very cool. Hell I think they are cool stone stock![IMG]

  6. Seems like Zocchi or D'Agostino have done one, prob'ly cost more than my house to build...

Really watch out for rust...Ford's first year trying out the unibody thing...

  7. I have a pic of a customized one at home I'll post when I get there.

I agree they look cool stock, but I was hoping to get some inspiration for what could be done as far as a mild treatment.

Btw, ironically the car is the same color combo as both of those pics.

  9. Come on! a little bodywork and some wheels and that would be a cool camper. I'd drive it.:D

I know where there's a late 50's Caddy that looks EXACTLY like that, I just found it in a junkyard yesterday and took pics, I'll try and post them...

  11. Sounds neat, can you post a pic?

  12. It could be cool if the camper was designed to flow with the Lincoln design-

No pics of it currently, but it's basically a faded and neglected version of the above red car and missing a few trim parts.

  16. Here's the only custom one I have. The ragtops of these cars are even WAY more awesome!

If you decide not to get it, I think i know a guy in burbank who has been looking for one..you could probably get a finders fee or something.

That's just a terrible waste... Why on earth would anyone do that with any car from the '50's? Even if it's too rough to restore, it could give parts to others. It's not like they're re-popping much from that era.

    Anyways, back to topic...

Demolition Derby is just as legitimate of a form of sport as drag racing , circle tracking or any other. . Winning derby folks tend to use cars that can be built to give/take a beating like the '64-'66 Imperials and '61-'64 Ford Galaxies if they can find solid ones. Most all are smart enough to sell off the parts...trim, glass, inteior parts, etc, etc not needed to rodders/restorers. Ironically, I don't remember '58-'60 Lincolns as being very good derby cars back in the day. The '58-'60 T-Birds are.

I'm a big fan of these cars, esp. the 2 doors. Here are a couple of pics that I found:

Ha, I'd hope you're kidding... Anyways, I don't care, that
has nothing to with this post.

All cars that deserve better fates than one or two rounds of slow demolition...
