Aaron you're like a ghost these days. Always working hard though.
Is that the '34 you've had for a little while (few months) or is this a new one? You moved to the big shop next door right?

    Yeah roadster progress?

Anywho, heres a pic of myself, Aaron, and Luke while Luke was hand engine turning the Old Crows Fairing for Bobby Green back in January when I was out there. Good times, next time we'll make it much longer.

I still want to do the roadster. I am still work on it a bit. But the Merc and the 34 have kept me swamped. The Roadster needs tons of metal work mods. Which take tons of time.. I have to think so hard and be very careful on the roadster because its such an odd project. I am always sketching ideas and keeping stuff in mind of what to do next. These other projects will be much quicker.. I still want to build it though.. The parts are all there for it. Just needs time!!

  10. OK, I'm partial....great car!! Hope you can keep it looking like a 5 window 'car' and not a 5 window doo-dad...like so many guys do with these. They are beautiful and stand on there own when you keep them simple.
Good luck and hope to see you out and about.

Hey Aaron, I've got a question for ya....what dizzy is the Cad running? Looks like an aftermarket Mallory....and it looks like it's been moved forward from the factory location...?? I'm in the throws of getting stuck into my LaSalle engine and one of the links in the chain is the distributor, so this pic really piqued my interest. Thanks.

I looked that motor over real close, and it has some insane cool machine work done to it. I didn't notice the dizzy to be moved, but I did note that the pedestal its sits on is shorter than stock.

It does have and old mallory.

it is centered on the engine

I have no idea how or why

I still have never dug into it. I have looked over alot of other flathead cad engines and have not saw another like this.. . This engine has alot of crazy stuff done to it

I will write more about it sometime. Also when I learn more about it

To my defense Aaron had it hid under some stairs behind a bunch of other really cool speed equipment. Its really centered though? I wish I would have inspected it closer.

  15. It held up fine under Randys foot. Moe has a tendancy to f*ck things up when he gets them. :D

Aaron, project looks fun. Keep us posted.

  16. coupes, coupes, glorious coupes.....I like it.

Follow your dream, you freaked me out when I saw what you did to the firewall, but I like your stuff, keep following your dream, look forward to seeing the end result.

  17. Hey Aaron -- Dale Hays in Columbus here . . .

A columbia rear is weaker (by quite a bit) as compared to the stocker . . . which is already too weak for the cubes and torque you'll put against it. If you run really skinny tires and are "nice" to it, it may last --- just not worth the $$$ you'll have invested . . . only to ****ter it. I ran a Columbia in my 34 coupe with a blown flathead -- but it always scared me to death. I have many Columbia parts and have built a couple of them -- they're pretty weak. If you need any help/ideas on different components, suspension parts, etc . . . drop me a line. I'm in the middle of making a new frame, suspension and all that jazz for my 34 five window.

    Later, Dale

Well I have not had a chance to work on the 34 for the past couple of weeks

But when I got back from my vacation I powered on it whenever I had some time. I have the torque tube all shortened and most of the suspension stuff dialed in.. Got to do some final welding some some parts.

I got the wheels and tires mounted too. I have 18" wide 5 s in the rear with 7.00 18s and 16" wheels up front with a 6.00 excelsior tire

I kicked the spit wishbones up into the k member so it gives it a bit of an unsplit look. I also moved the rear crossmember back 1" to get the wheels to align on the wheel well a little better. Just a little bit made such a difference.

I have been busy trying to get my 49 merch Driveable for paso. Murphy's law with it
    but I am still trying
