Whats really wrong with 4 doors?

As My old man always used to say " You can polish the hell out of it, but youll never polish that fourth door off"



For some strange reason, Rockasilly, I mean Rockabilly dudes always seem to own them.

I would also put Caddies and Lincolns on the exception list. But then, they aren't really hot rods.

4 doors are great when you got 4 buddies and you need to go on a road trip. way more room and easier access.

oh and if you an your girl need some room for some action it is way better too.

 

I hope four doors get cool reaaal soon so someone will finally buy the 56 Bel Air four door I'm trying to unload....

 

This whole argument reminds me of Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" when everone is arguing over their interpretation of what Jesus is saying in his sermon. "Blessed are the cheesemakers!" "No, he said blessed are the makers of all dairy products!"

Fuck it. If it's an old car and it's done up right, then who the hell cares? This whole snobby argument over what's a "real" car makes my head hurt. If you don't like my 4-door Custom then here's what me n' the family think....

 

59 Dodge - NICE SHAPE @ 2500 Bucks... Find me a 2 Door for that!

56 Dodge - GREAT SHAPE @ 5000 Bucks... Again, Find me a comparable 2-Door for that price...

60 Chrysler - Needs Paint & Interior @ ZERO Bucks... That's right, FREE... I dare ya to find me a similar 2-Door for THAT price!

So, I seriously doubt I could find a really nice 2-door in any of the above vehicles for what I have in all 3 of my 4-Doors.

Any way you cut it, that's MORE CAR(s) for the $$$$.

2 slams too many.
4 doors were never cool back in the day and they still arent now.
I dont care how many "WALK-A-BILLIES" have started driving them lately as yet another dramatic prop in a lame attempt to look cool.
Nobody I know would be caught dead in a 4 door unless they were on their way to the grocery store,nursing home,or the morgue,etc....
Well ,you get the idea.
By the way, stigmata is mysterious bloody piercings in your hands and feet similar to the crucifiction of jesus and a stigma is what is attached to generic grocery getters with too many doors.

Glad you have your opinion, but I have my 4 door, have spent thousands of hours building it, taught my kids how to build and enjoy the hell out of it daily.

It's not a walk-a-billy prop, or whatever the hell you call it.

I guess I'm just not cool enough for you and your pals. I'll try not to lose sleep over it.

Four doors are a design compromise unless the car is designed to be a four door. I'd take a '40 Ford convertible sedan though. Or a '57-'58 Broughm.

look at human nature in action. here you have a lot of people with the same ideas, and the same hobby, and still you will find divisions.

what I really want to know is how many of these guys with a no 4 door policy hop in their 06 4 door truck every morning. while some of us with the old 4 doors are the ones they tailgate in traffic.

would love to have a two door but for my family i would not trade it for anything ,nothing like having two ten mon old twins in the back and a sunday cruise.one day a two door will come until then..

 

Yeah,four doors no waiting! I'll drive the kraparoni out of my more door 57 Chev until my 53 Buick hardtop is finished. How many of you guys would rather ride the bus than drive a more door? My buddy Doug Olson from Schreveport calls em, "no watin" just open your own door and haul your ass in. You can plead all you want for them being cool, and a lot of them are. But 2-drs will always be first choice. My .02 cents. Just enjoy your ride whatever it is._Sololobo

 

I qoute my idol (my Father), four doors are good for Police Cars and Taxi Cabs!!!! Iam lucky enough that both my cars are two doors and I can only take one passenger in each of them, it works out great!!!!! and I will never have kids so I am good with my 2 doors..... Either way I could care less what you own and drive, I drive what I like and I build what I like if you dont like my car I dont care, and I wish everyone on here would just stop caring what other people think, Till someone starts paying your bills do what you want..........paint your 4 door whatever color you want and use what ever wheels you want and enjoy it.....
