i headed out there friday since i had am patrol duty. constant 30mph+ winds friday had everyone worried but saturday wasn't so bad, a little windy in the am so the racing started a little late which made the patrol that much more boring, i think only 10 or 11 cars ran during the am patrol. it was so windy friday night that i only got about 2 hours of sleep cramped inside the truck cab instead of sleeping in the bed. i ended up heading home saturday shortly after that motorcycle wreck, i was b***iclly right there when it happened, it was one of the most violent crashes i've ever seen, i really hope the guy makes it. between no sleep and feeling like **** all day then watching that wreck i'd had enough and headed home to sleep in my own bed. anyways here's some pics from saturday
thanks for posting i haven't seen dan's 32 morph project (last picture posted) in a couple years looks like he's coming along great!
Dude, Looks like you got some good pix. Was a little windy on Sunday. Plus I couldn't stay too long. More to see in June. 41 Dave
yup that's mort's 32, didn't see him out there though, not sure who was driving it. dan's 32 is interesting we've talked about it before and it's kinda a study of all his ideas on windflow, i think he ran around 140 something sat afternoon. i'm really glad the cycle guy is ok, i was sitting between the finish line and next patrol balloon when it happenend. i thought i just watched someone die. he was on a busa? so probably around 180-200 through the traps when he came up from his crouch it wobbled a couple times then the thing just tumbled into this huge dust cloud, not sure if it was the rider or the bike that came flying out of the top of the cloud at one point, deffinetly a scary looking crash for sure. i heard he popped a tire but not sure if that was the cause of the crash or a result of it. anyways that's really good news that he's going to be ok. i've got some little vids of julio's car and a couple others making p***es if i can figure out how i'll post them up later.
this was my first time out there to see this event, it was cool saw gene out there also a chevy with a jag motor,

On Saturday morning, we were all hanging around the SO WHAT SPEED SHOP camp, a bunch of rodders stopped by. You should have stopped by and introduced yourself. See you at the next meet.
I have found we are usually to busy with the racing working on the tank and keeping everything ready to go takes all our time. Then we are to tired to go anywhere else...I'll try to find some time next meet....Lucky

Wayno-Do you think that tank is big enough? I have a tank motor that would go well in it. What's it off of? RF
Great photos at the starting line! It's funny how any car looks twice as cool out on that lake bed, under all that blue sky. Here's my photos from Saturday: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=181144
It's a fibergl*** P-38 Rich. I bought Jack Kelly's tooling. It was taken off the old Scotty's Muffler car. Zach, I'm PMing you. Wayno
