Well, My Y block is a later 50s one so it has a spin on oil filter adapter, and that gasket is leaking on the adapter, not only leaking but oil is being pumped out, Ive tried 3 different types of gaskets that I made to try and fix it and it hasnt worked, now I got a really oily barn floor and a car I cant drive....so 1: where can I get the right gasket because all the parts stores around here have no clue what Im even talking about? 2: or what type of material should I make it out of? 3: do i use gasket glue on it or just wet it down with oil because ive tried both and neither has worked? 4: Should I just JB weld the F'n thing on there and drive the damn thing?....ok probably not but anyways Id appreciate some help

I'm sure you already know this, but supposedly the ford dealer stocks a part #B7A6882 that'll allow you to use a modern filter...

  4. I got my gaskets from MAC's.

Gathering by how hard th eold one was to remove i'd say put some gasket sealer on and clean it with thinners before.

Although Ive done that a few times but the old gasket is not stuck in there this time, also I am currently using a modern filter, it is the gasket that is in between the block and the adapter for the modern filter that is leaking.

You are going to be better off buying the aforementioned adaptor kit (B7A 6882-A) as the new gasket will be with the kit and it might be a good idea to replace the plate as it may be warped.
