I only drove it in a out of the shed today, had visitors most of the arvo. I bought a pressure regulator this morning but haven't had a chance to fit it.
Good stuff Mark, first drives are great and even better when shared with the missus! Now to stop yourself from driving up and down the street long enough to work on it. I had to with the EK, its hard to do when you know they can!
WOW!!! BEE-U-TI-FUL RPU!! One of the best I've seen!! Everything realy works together, interior, paint colors, stance, sounds geat, etc. Enjoy!! (and hang on to that woman, too)
Hey Mark, how about posting a pic of the engine bay. I've just been sitting here staring at the pics you posted for about 10 minutes. Showed them to the missus and she loved it too. It all goes together so well. I love to see A's with an A grille instead of the mandatory 32. Guess I'll get flamed for that! It may have taken you 17 years but you sure have all the right ingredients. Now engine bay pics please swifty
Swifty, I don't have any pics of the engine bay since adding the fan and changing the color of the hoses. Once the car is completely finished I intend to do a full shoot of the whole car. Only pics I have at the moment.
well you put the steering wheel on the wrong side but Ill let it pass this one time .....Bitchin truck I love it!! Ive never heard of waggot heads....will someone please fill me in on those???
Waggot is an Aussy speed parts company, Im sure Binga can tell us more. What is that hiding away in primer behind the A??
I know the feeling. I finished up the Mustang this weekend... put a couple hundred miles on it already.
I don't know that much about the heads only that they seem to be a fairly rare item even here in Australia.I'm probably wrong as I live in a rodding waste land. I have only heard of about 3 other sets of these heads and a mate of mine has a set still wrapped in their orginal paper. Note these heads have been modified, at the water outlets, to fit a blower when the motor was in another car. I know Diablo Motors has the patterns for the manifolds but not sure if they are producing any at this stage. Flatoz probably knows more about them. DocWatson.......the thing in primer is a 54 chev panel truck that I started building before this car. sooooooo at the rate I'm going should be finished in about 10 years ....Hahaha........
Thanx for that Mark, that's what I wanted the folks to see- those Waggot heads. Some vintage Aussie speed equipment and fairly rare at that.
I know of a Chopped & Channeled 34 5 window which hopefully will see the light of day again very soon on which will (unless he's changed his mind) run Waggot heads and intake. Certainly are nice looking. So is some of the SPECO stuff too.
Old speedway guys have a fair bit of vintage Australian flatty hop up things like heads, manifolds etc. I've even seen "home made" QC's.
Great looking truck! I hope to be at the point where you are someday but still collecting parts and working on the frame as of now.
Great looking RPU. I hesitate to use the word "cute" in describing a hot rod, but it really fits your truck. Wouldn't want to swap it for a nice '34 truck, I suppose?
WOW is the very first thought I had when I saw this little RPU. Your attention to detail is superb! Thanks Ryan for putting it on the Jalopy Journal, I somehow missed it on the main board. My buddy and fellow HAMB'er, "EVILT" is gonna flip when he see's this baby. He's been lusting after a RPU for a long time, and this one might send him over the edge!
elcornus The orange color is called Quaser Orange from our local GM car company and is a liitle bit more yellow in real life. It was the hardest color for me to decide on too. Caps are going on the car soon, stainless 35ford caps.
