Since someone's lookin for trucks like these...

 

Jocko, EVERYONE should be looking for trucks like these...I picked up another S10 frame from Steelrat (Thanks, RK!) and I've got that green cab and I've got another bed and I've got those red fenders, and I've got 3 54 grills and 1 51 grill...see where this is leading us?

 

Ah yes...our "road to hell" is paved with AD parts. Gonna hang some pics on the 4spd post. In reply to your smart assed response, which I took quite well

I don't post much, and I haven't made ANY progress on my truck in a long time. But i might as well jump on the band wagon and show everyone my POS.

The orange and black truck WAS a '49 that i bought in '94 and worked on for a couple years.I packed up everything I owned in the back and headed back to SoCal (where I was born) to start a new life and be close to my family. I made it 1750+ miles and was within 30 miles of my final destination when I was hit by a drunk driver who had no insurance, suspended DL, and driving a friends car. The worst part is that I had pulled off the road to relatch the tail gate, and was standing behind my truck when she hit it at 50+ mph. She missed me by about six inches, pushed my truck forward about 20 feet, and left me still holding the tailgate. My friend that took the trip with me started screaming my name expecting to see me in atleast two pieces. I'm assuming God wasn't ready to deal with me yet, and thats why I'm still here.

After I gave up and moved back to Spokane, I bought another '49 (the blue one) in '97. I scored a complete s-10 long bed for a frame swap, but haven't had the money or the space to work on it. Now it sits at a friends shop waiting for me to get to work on it again.

The last pic is a quick mock up on the s-10 frame, and thats how it sits today. Maybe one day I will have some good luck for a change and get it on the road.

It's time for me to shut my mouth and go back to reading posts.

My daily driver & shop truck

 

Here's a pic of my '48 five window I built back in '84-85 before, after, and again at a local show sitting beside my '37 more door. I sold the truck in 88, a friend now owns the '37.

The 3 window on the trailer I picked up this past summer to build for my 14 year old son. The chopped cab & pieces on the trailer is my original yellow 5 window (or what's left of it) after I found it again just about 10 minutes from my house at a junk yard. I bought it all for $100 and will use the rear cab section to convert my son's to a 5 window.

 

Here's my 51 Chevy I got a few days ago in a trade deal. Plan to change some things to give it more of a Kustom feel and get away from the Street Rod look. Going to change the rally wheels out for something else. and put on some bias Wide Whites. Probably go with a Pearl Suede Paint job w/ body Mods. Blue maybe? Going to put in a air suspension as well. All when money allows.. Truck is setup with Heidts Mustang 2 with drop spindles. 9" ford outback with TCI 4 Link. 350sbc and 350TH trans. Has 54 Bed with shaved stake pockets and louverd tailgate. No longer has the caddy lights. Now has 55 Chevy truck lights

 

I can't believe no one posted "Honest Charley's" WD-50!

I always enjoyed looking at that AD, too bad he sold it.

 

I had a late 49 early 50's GMC 5 window with a 292/400turbo years ago and several times people would say that it was a rare Denver truck. What did they mean and how did they tell?

Finaly starting to work on it, I'll post some updated pics soon.

 

Anybody got a 'how to' on sectioning one of these trucks?

 

Saw it at Autorama this year. He's got 2 now. Lives not too far from me from what I hear. A few guys here know him. I dig that truck.
