Anyone ever try this companys' kit.I bought it to replace the old vac wiper system,thinking it would be a better way to go-NOT!Either I've lost my mechanical inclination,have two left arms,or this thing sucks.It uses a wiper motor with a cable that feeds through the bottom of the pivots,which each have a corresponding gear in the bottom.Problem is my dash fairly confined,curved slightly.The kit would work OK if the pivots and motor were perfectly inline,mounted on exactly the same plane,which my dash is not!OK,I've finished ranting,any suggestions while I sulk!Thx
Did you call their toll free number? Have you considered cutting the tube in half and leaving a gap in the middle? How about bending the tube, gently, so it doesn't kink? Just winging it here. Best -- Gary
I've never used their wiper kit, or any for that matter. I opt for manual wipers as opposed to vacum or electric. I did use their wiring harness in my buddies merc. Didn't see too many problems with it and their toll free number WAS helpful. Give em a call, its worth a shot.
i have never had the opportunity to install the stuff from "its a snap" but their product is a knock off of specialty power windows.. and I've installed spc stuff. you should be able to bend the tube.. to get the transmissions to sit parallel with the glass in the car.. and the shafts sticking out of the cowl should be perpendicular to the face of the glass...
One of my cars had that wiper kit installed by the previous owner. Seems to work alright, and that's saying something since nothing else he did was right. Sawzall is right: the tube needs to be bent as appropriate for your car. A regular tubing bender oughta do it.
What does the instruction sheet say? I repeat the bend the tubing to fit the car reply. Mark/cut tubing to fit motor housing. Lubricate/install the spiral brush. Test. Install wiper trunions, arms. Test/adjust.
