Gas in Winnipeg right now is $1.20 per litre, which works out to $4.54 per gallon. It's supposed to go up another nickel before the weekend too. Is anyone else out there getting raped like this? I was sick of getting all the "boycott the oil company" chain letters but now I want to do it and get a frickin bus pass.

Think people are pissed now ... wait until the quarterly profit reports come out.

Did you know that the government ads more to gas costs in taxes than the oil companies profit. But they don't talk about that do they ??????

Frankly, I am beggining to resent a lot of single person SUV drivers driving these fucking behemouth boats that get 12 miles per gallon.
Know one to blame except ourselves. What a fucking waste.

Freind on mine who is a used car sales manager says they won't take a SUV trade in unless they can steel it for 50 % of book and dump it to the auction.

SUV's sales in this area are down 70% in the last 60 days .....
    hmmmm... I wonder why ?????

Here in Cali anywhere from 3.35 to 3.85 depend on grade and location.

    It sucks.

In my neck of the woods the prices are at $2.99 to $3.19 for regular unleaded. My car gets 31 mpg every day and it depresses me...

but I feel better when I see all of the blonde, sunglass-clad mall-zombie babes cruising in their Hummers.

A real piece of irrelivant piece of garbage...

    I mean the Hummer...

err, I think I mean the Hummer!

I only look at mid-grade or premium prices. It's been years since I put 87 in any of my V-8 cars.

Today, Premium 93 varied between $3.59 to $3.64 depending on what city you were in.

No price gouging? B/S! They price it to what they think they can get depending on the area. I'm sick of reading the paper's articles that say there isn't any price gouging going on...that it's all based on supply and demand. There is more demand in affluent areas??? What about the people avoiding these areas knowing they can get gas cheaper if they go somewhere else?? I know people that go out of their "area" to buy gas...because it's CHEAPER!

How can you raise the price on a commodity (the gas that's already been pumped underground waiting to be pumped?) It's not like grocers raise the price on milk already on the shelves waiting to be sold if the price of milk goes up! Am I wrong here? Any grocers on here?

In Madison Heights, MI (a poorer suburb of Detroit) gas is ROUTINELY 30-40 cents less than in Birmingham, MI (a very affluent area) and less than 10 minutes away.

    No price gouging my ass.

It's pretty obvious when I can drive a mile south to save 10 cents a gallon that there is some price-fixing going on. (I'm in Royal Oak...caught in the middle.)

B/S--- If they increase capacity, they lose $$$$

"If you can lower demand here, [ i.e selling more fuel-efficient cars] you can look at it as adding capacity for free on the supply side, and that's what the oil companies are terrified of," Sankey said."

I think that sums it up pretty well. "Why invest in more refineries if we can make record profits with what we have??"

    SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.

Sorry for the diatribe...I'm getting ill of this argument.

I'm starting to dislike Canada. Expensive gas, our national animal is a frickin beaver, and our navy is two guys in a canoe with pellet guns. Oh well, I'm still staying.:D

$2.99-$3.19 in my part of Ohio. That maty seem low to the Brits and folks in other countries, but most of us have no public transport available and are forced to drive longer distances to get to work and such.

Not an excuse for our lower prices, but the situation here is much different.

anywhere from $3.19- $3.85 a gallon for regular...all in the same town.
it's a frickin rip off if you ask me.
it costs me about $10.00 to mow my frickin lawn.
my daily driver gets about 30 mpg, and i drive 75 miles one way to work. this is getting expensive, even at 30 mpg.
i have noticed that the gas prices have gone up, but the quality of gas has gone down. seems like it burns alot faster than it did a few years ago.

  25. $3.09 here in lovely Sedalia MO. for regular. Went to $3.15 for two days.

  26. And I just finished a V8 swap on my daily driver S10, it was a 4cyl. I also just went to two side draft webers on my Roadster.
