I don't think this is complaining yet, just because your prices are over twice as much as the ours doesn't mean that we don't have a right to be pissed at the current situation. Honestly you are getting screwed by your government in taxes and fees more than we are. Looking briefly on the internet I found that 95 octane gas in Finland has about 66% taxes added on to the base price by the time you purchase it (http://www.oil-gas.fi/eng/index.php?m=5&id=82). Here in the US the Federal gas tax is 18.4 cents per gallon plus anywhere from 8 to 32 cents per gallon for state taxes, depending on where you live (http://www.gaspricewatch.com/usgastaxes.asp). In Idaho gas is about $3.06/gal including taxes, which shows I am being charged 14.2% in taxes per unit. The % of taxes paid looks lower when gas is high and higher when gas prices drop (probably over 20% on average).
Hypothetically if you paid my local ($.25/gal) and national fuel taxes ($18.4) on top of your average base cost in Finland($6.93 gal*33%=$2.31/gal) you would actually pay $2.74 a gallon.
So excluding all taxes, you pay less for fuel than we do.

  7. I saw $3.72 for regular today in Anaheim area, So. Cal.

Here around Munich it´s 1,40 Euros a liter for 98 Octane grade. That´s about 5,18 Euros a gallon, at the current exchange rate Euro vs US $ of 1,36 $ a Euro this sums up to US$7,05 for a gal.

I keep mixing fuel and Bioethanol E85 ( which is 0,89 Euro Cents a liter) for my daily to keep the costs down a little...
The funny thing about the gas prices here in Germany is that 80% of the fuel price are taxes... talking about getting raped by government...

People are pretty pissed in Norway too! $7.5/gallon last time I checked.. AND we pay extra taxes on the cars here too if they use a lot of gas.. A new good size car cost about 50% more than in say, Sweden... and cars ain't cheep in Sweden hehe

Oh, and we have our own oil.. to quote wikipedia: "Only Russia and OPEC member Saudi Arabia export more oil than Norway, which is not an OPEC member."

    Love it..

To be perfectly honest I have been tired of fuel prices since hurrican Katrina. So us good old boys in Illinois are brewing are own fuel, one part gas two parts corn fuel, Commonly know as shine!

Car runs like an ape..maybe 120 octaine. >?We use corn and if the market is right peaches, My freinds say that when they run behind me is smells like peaches..so when my women is next to me they say here come peaches and cream.

Prices here in the Charleston, WV area gas is $3.09 per gal
My SUV gets 17MPG with a load or pulling my car dolly with the '60 F100 on it!!! It gets as good if not better gas mileage of any pick-up I've ever owned and I can pretty much do with it as most pick-ups.
We have a car that gets 26MPG+ that we drive mostly.

Omaha Nebraska-----anywhere from $3.19-$3.30 for unleaded. Dont even wanna think about premium. I would give anything to see below $2.50 again. This is the beginning of the end
