so, whats the law on bringing back a parts car or two,...... my dad used to import/export equipment but that was back in the 80s. what type of permits or paperwork is required if the owner/seller has no title? can it be considered scrap/junk?........ dont worry I could probably only afford a few parts or one parts car, but what an adventure it could be!........ so dont all of us go running down there and scare the prices up! ... maybe Sled could be our official MPC .. Mexican Parts Connection????!...... Thanks for posting Sled!
markX,you must make a distincion about importing, such your case bringin back to US stuff... parts are parts,no need papers ..no chassis numbers or titles!!period.in case you declare em at the custom for small cash, taht's all...and as Fiat 128 did ,passin the border..taht's fine, easy as that... but a car is a car,you MUST have a totle or registration or some paperwork belongin to the car in order to be re-registed back in your coutry... is the same shit worldwide, nothin special...makes me smile how complicated you guys are seeing things.... is the same all over, you buy a car with papers, right???you need to have papers if you pass any border LEGALLY in the world... well, you could sneak thru a car without papers, but what for??makes no sense, cause at the time to register it they ask you for the import papers anyway...makes NO sense,fellas... you need to ask the local customs and follow the import process, plus all the hassle from the mexican side, depends where you are and far away you are... but again,if you have the car papers there's no problem, exept maybe some local mordidas to cops to on road blocks, but taht's easy to solve....small cash fix everything here!! KISS principle,guys.....
Probably doesn't want anyone stealing the crossram manifolds..... Cool post Sled.......love the late 60's Mopar stuff....*drool......
hi fellas, just found this one hours ago today ,up in the hills at the side of the city... used as a funeral hearse and 1 owner car,saw the papers... still in good conds exept some some dents in and there, but easy to restore or kustomize again....i like the windows style.... ir runs easily, these stovebolts are very reliable... ah,i forgot..is a 51 Chevy sedan delivery..i imagine this one in satin copper color and slammed...MMMM,will almost buy it...
on the way back to city i turned around and far away i saw this thing in parkin lot....back to check out and it turn a very nice frame off resto 57 Chevy 2D-Ht....well,this is a good one.... looked underneath and the floors ,in amazing original conds...cool car!! so,i'm dealin this one too ..right away....no loosin time.talked with the owner and he has ALL the parts belongin to the car... more pix to come, too nice...
here more shots of the 57 bel air....solid as hell,i liked very much... engine has been totally rebuilt with 0 miles on it... owner knows prices,he's asking 15 grand...guess is worth it easily... plus has al the trimmings, moldings, windows, bumpers and so on to complete.... mmm,was a good day..i deserve a coffe now!!!
let's start the day ...time ago been to a junkyard to check out an old Indian bike and this Caddy 57 Eldo Biarritz cab was sittin there.... actually is still there, owned by an old greedy man....in the family since more than 20 years ,he told me!! car is really good shape, with all the Batwing and original engine set up...nothin missing, fully running.... will post some more ,cause he has all the rest of parts carefully stored in a container besides the car.... very classy color, even the rag top is light blue.... the funny thing about these mexican toys is when the old man will die,the sons will sell for next to nothing, not interested at all!!!
how many of you have ever seen an A model phaeton 2 doors only??? here you got both of them ,the normal 4 doors under resto and the rarest version....check it out!!!
from a private collection...a Ford 40 pick up with an old show made loaded old caterpillar... wonder if the old flattie can afford that weight on the road.....show purpose only!!!
Good morning sled. I see you're still hard at it. Keep it up, I'm enjoying the crap out of this thread. Thanks. Mike
Any one know how you would get these cars INTO the USA?? would it require PayOla of some officials?? the how ould you get a State side title??? would a US state reconize a Mex title?? How do you make the car legit?
hi kornbinder,yeah...try to upload some stuff before movin out to buy some old junk ,my daily dosis,ya know.... keep it lookin, some junk to come....
bad to the bone... Christine fans!!!here's one abandoned in the countryside, too bad really.... Rotten away,no hemi engine on this one....
hey sinister, never realized that Plymas does'nt come with Hemis...you see,we always learn,it's called culture...mmm,like it!! this one is still there, who wanna rescue it???? luckily i know some much better ones, 57/58 Plymas Ht..... a friend owns one ,in very good shape...but the son of a B....does'nt wanna sell it...
'57/8 Plyms are probably my fav of the late 50's Mopars......killer lines.... A guy on my street has a '58 DeSoto 2dr HT.....complete, but does need work, just sits in the yard with grass growing up around it.....he won't sell, I've TRIED! Keep 'em coming Sled!!!
Is that '58 a Fury?? It looks as though the paint faded around what could be Fury trim. Anyhooo, if I were anywhere near that car, it would be mine. Sled.... you need to pick this one up regardless of the condition.
do you like woodies???here's a friend owned 47 Ford...note the 2 carb intake,a tuned up flattie too...
hi tuxedo, the car is sitting there since long....is for sale by owner wich obviously does NOT have any cash to restore not only this but the other 20 cars around rottin away.... so,it will be easy for me to pick this one up....actually is close by,not really far out... it's a 58 for sure, but i did not payed much attention if could be the Fury trim....have some other pix made, will post em now....if it helps to you to tell a bit more.... give me a minute....
ok,something different...another one sittin in the fields, but very restorable in this case... a rare 58 Ford sedan delivery....not many around....
That quite possibly is a Fury......the trim on the fender appears to have the gold insert......although the interior looks to have been changed.....missing the 'V' in the grill too...... VERY cool ride.....
That '58 Plymouth appears to be a Belvedere with Sportone. No dual quads, no Buckskin Beige paint, no brown interior, no gold stuff..
