i hope your all sitting comfortably.

So this year we were invited to attend a reliability run (mainly flatheads). We jumped at the chance.
So we drove 200 miles (6hours) to get there to spend a day driving around (about 100miles) to drive 200 miles home in the pouring rain!!!!!!

It was fantastic, great cars, company and beautiful scenery.

    Here are a few pics. <!--emo&:D-->[IMG]<!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D-->[IMG]<!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D-->[IMG]<!--endemo-->

how to fix a broken bolt that holds the alternator on???????

Yep use one piece of wood to hold alternator whilst using another to keep tension. <!--emo&-->[IMG]<!--endemo-->

Well what a man!!!!! not only had he flown bombing missions in the war, he had also driven, cars, bikes, raced speed boats and he flew girocopters, and had flown his in the James Bond film you only live twice.

I could have listened to him for hours.

Whilst we were there it stopped raining and asked if we would like to see his girocopter fly, of course we jumped at the chance. So off he went to put on his flying suit and then he showed us and whilst he was up there flying it he took some ariel photo's of our cars.

All this at the tender age of 91!!!!!!! He truly was an amazing guy.

Then the rest of the afternoon consisted of a few stops whilst driving through country lanes, tracks and crossing a unmanned train track <!--emo&-->[IMG]<!--endemo-->

The T ran brillantly seeing as it was running rich from the dual carb set up. It was touch and go if we were even going as the week before we put the dual carb set up on and it was running ****. Then Tuesday we found out she was only firing on 7 cylinders so we had to order new dizzy and fit it before Friday morning. Now waiting for more jets to sort out the carbs then hopefully it will be a bit better on fuel. Worked out she was doing about 18 mpg

    Hey guys, great snaps!
Had a blast myself and very glad I made it.
How long did it take you to get home? I set off at 8am, had a few stops for a stretch and a coffee and got in at 1pm. Not bad. The rain was shocking from about Cambridge onwards so I was glad I had a roof!
Need to upload my photos, I'll add them to this post when I've got them ready.

We left just after 9 and stopped a few times for fuel and got home about half 2. About half hour into the journey we hit rain and it got steadily worst all the way home.

Glad you all made it home safe , if not dry !

Got a few pic's to sort out myself so I'll post 'em when I've got 'em ready . The parting comment from the landlord at the host pub's last comment to me was that he had no ale left to sell his regulars for the rest of the weekend .

    Good work people !!!

Great pictures and a great weekend despite the fact I only made about 1% of the run! Still it gave Jacqui and I a chance to be car *****s for the day, so thanks to T Shirt, Ivor and Darren for giving us a ride round.

Also a big thanks to Phil and Ratty for organising the event once again, roll on next year. Oh, and make sure Them Harvey Boys are available for the Saturday night session again, a blinding nights music!

The first very nice man showed up half an hour after they promised, trouble is he was in a little van. The second very nice man was about 1 1/2 hours after that, still it was dry in the pub! Finally got home shortly after 3 o'clock. Can't wait for next year!

Pinion shaft came loose. It started making some horrible noises when I backed off the throttle, hopefully I stopped in time.

By the way, sorry to hear about your troubles Clark, good luck with salvaging what you can.

Pinion shaft? I had the exact same thing after the Hayride last year.

Unfortunately I drove mine all weekend, up the hill and all the way home.
It smashed the ring and pinion to pieces and scored up the Winters gears but luckily didn't do any damage at all to the centre section.

**** happens. Hopefully its localised to the piston and bore and hasn't damaged anything further along.

Contender for funniest moment of the weekend.....Here's Clive less than one mile away from the gas station that we had ALL stopped at. Except him. 'Cos he'd got loads in his tank. Apparently.
