soft core Speedster porn! (full nudity) and late/early? meeting for Monthly Bangers?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by fur biscuit, May 29, 2007.

  1. so I got bored, went and built a new body for the speedster:

note exceptional quality of body work, period decals, and of course aerodynamic accesories.

only the highest quality of construction, I mean building materials, what ever...

and some random speedster pics: :)

i didn't notice that the hood had gone all ****ed hat...just imagine it being straight.

    exhaust mock up from earlier:

At last I have something to report at a meeting, unfortunately it's a breakage!

It was the 2nd Annual Fields and Forest Reliability run last weekend, over 100 miles through Norfolk countryside and I was out before the first mile was completed. It seems the pinion shaft on my quickchange had come loose and it resulted in some nasty noises coming from the rear end. Hopefully I stopped in time and the damage isn't too severe. When I go in further I'll let you know.

  5. very clever how you insulated your exhaust with the secondary tube so your bondo wouldn't get too hot and look bad.

and also.. the speedster looks like fun!

Yeah, I know how you feel. My 16 year old daughter wanted to have a speedster so she could drive out to Napa, CA and show those speedster guys out there what the back of her new ride looks like. [IMG]

I think we have settled on Hugger Orange with either a White or Creme colored running gear. We've been all over the spectrum on that one!!!

The engine (painted gray) is about done and includes a polished 6.5 CR aluminum head, 280 Stipe Cam, "magnet-less" flywheel, and for now a straight-through NH and a stock type exhaust manifold with a 3" straight pipe to the back. Gotta plenty of other 'bling' with polished barrel covers, valve cover, and hogshead cover. We'll look at upgrading the manifold system when she gets a few more miles under her belt in it. Til then, gotta have it ready for the T Tour in Grand Rapids in July.

Wow...some great speedster action this month. (Hang on....it's still May over here!!!).

I finally got some serious miles on my coupe, the first since the Volvo trans swap and new valves etc. Turned over 400 miles in 48 hours, going to, taking part in and returning from the Meltdown Reliability Run. A fantastic event which has it's own thread elsewhere on the HAMB.
Apart from a strange noise that manifested itself on the journey there - still not isolated but possibly a dry speedo cable - everything went great. 100 miles of twisting Norfolk hillbilly single-track roads were a good test for the 4-speed trans and it all came through with flying colours. Shifting was effortless and made the drive far more comfortable than with the old 3-speed crash 'box.
A pic of my coupe and Wrong 'Un's Sport Coupe (at the camp site, approximately 1 mile before it broke down....)

Me and Mrs Wrong 'Un (?!) on one of Norfolk's better roads....

Is this the banger meet, I'm confused?

Biscuit, the body looks great. It really finishes the car off. I never really went for the "sit on an apple box and hold on" look.
    Any idea on colour?

  13. I need some help in the colour department... though some variation of Red or Black body, Black running gear, Red wheels with black/ gold/ cream pinstriping. with cream numbers?

    any thoughts...help?

Oh KRAP, We have just gone through this with my wife, my daughter, and my pride. Heck, I wanna drive this thing too so I want a color that I can defend my manlihood when I am seen driving it. My daughter either wants it bright Lime Green, Turquoise w/ ****erflies & Hibiscus flowers, or something similar. I said "No!" My wife said "Whose car is it?" I say "It don't matter." My wife said "Yes it does, --and you said it was HER (my 16 y.o. daughter) car."

With all that said, any color you pick should be easy from this point on if you ain't got 'girls' to contend with!!!!!:D

Personally, a color that I think would look good on your car would be Ford Tractor Gray (as in 8N) with either Apple Red or Maroon accents. While it does not sound good, it has a very 'expensive look' when it done with a high level of gloss. Here is a picture of a car that is a tad too dark for my tastes but you can kinda get the jest...

Well disaster struck hard for me.

I should have been at the event above with the rest of the Brits but I didn't quite make it, mainly for this reason.....

That has kind of killed my plans for the rest of year. I should of been sitting here saying how much power I made on the rollers as I was booked in for a session on the rolling road/ch***is dyno today but obviously that had to canceled.

I got one drag meet in last week which the car was faster but still had a disappointing time over the previous spec of the engine.

The engine was running very strong, but with 4.11's in the quickchange ran out of puff just beyond the 1/8th mile. Best time of the day was 16.3@80mph.

    On a lighter note....

I've been keeping an eye out for an early edition of the California Bill Ford Speed Manual as I believe they contained a lot more Banger info than the current '52 reprint. The earliest edition I have seen is '46.

While on the hunt I came across this, which is a Dan Iandola reprint of the California Bill Four Barrel Manual '47 edition. I didn't know California Bill did a Banger specific manual or that Dan Iandola had reprinted it.

It contains general hot rod info and a chapter on Chevy 4's.

It has some interesting comments like...

In regards to dual carb manifolds, "One of these utilises two model A carburetors and should not be used if any other manifold is available"

On Chevy 4's, "If you interested in constructing a speed machine that will run consistently faster than its younger brother, the model A, read on and learn how."

At 29 pages its not going to blow your mind with info but still worth having.

If there's enough interest I'll scan and email it to who ever want its.

    And finally...

I came across this pic on www.g***ermadness.com. 'A' sedan G***er, but check out the engine, BANGER BABY!!

  16. HaHA!! (sorry)...there was an article in Hemmings monthly mag that had these 2 girls who had speedsters painted those exact color combinations (lime green and pink...eeech!)

Basically I think that the wheels will stay red (or some shade) the battleship grey is a good idea!

Thought you would like this picture taken at the Indy 500 track last week. This is one of my speedsters ( been on the road for a few years)laping the track during community day at the track.
My father in law ( Robert Ford) is 90 years old, the car is a 25 steel body. I told every one i had two old fords at the track:)
Engine is 6-1 aluminum head, bored 090, stipes camshaft, t 400 clutches, no magnets and vw distributor. High volum intake and holley nh. Car has been on many tours and we drive it a couple thousand miles each year.

I guess if I really read closely where you said your body is a '25 (instead of a 26 or 27), I would have picked up on that it wasn't. Pretty similar cars though huh??

BTW, I hear you really had Ron Miller wanting to build a HA/GR car after the Indy swap meet huh??

This one is currently sitting in my garage, but its not mine.

The car is involved in a sponsorship/promotion agreement with the New Stromberg 97 company. Of course it runs a par of the new carbs.

It's probably a darn good thing it's not Banger powered or it would be a killer Bobtail 'sans' an engine currently sitting in your garage!! [IMG]

Any idea what that radiator shell is from? Some closeup photos and details about the kickups would be great. That car is crying out for some 20" Daytons or Buffalo wires. :D

I can only go on the story I was told, which is the shell was originally sold as a Whippet shell which everyone knows its not. General opinion now is that it came from a Singer. Thats Singer the car not the sewing machine!

Well, it still maybe a Whippet. Most folks know the early four cylinder (circa '26-'28) but they made a later version that was more square ikinda like what you have. The only thing that I cannot tell is if the front is as curved under the emblem like the later Whippets.

I too would like to see some particulars/photos on that car as I would like to build an early bob-tail similar to that one and this one below to race with AARA.
