I know him, I bought a model a from him a few years ago. I drove my *** 1200 miles to get it and was disapointed it wasnt what he described. When I got it home and realy looked it over it was worse that I thought. Once I started to work on it I relized that all the patch panels were half ***ed home made and screwed on with a few sheet metal screws and mudded over.

Hes also the guy that was selling the 59 or 60 chevy roadster a few months ago. There was a guy here sayin he thought it was cool. I told him the story about him but I dont think he listened. Some people are just alot smarter than me I guess.

Eveything this guy does is half ***ed slaped together to try and make some money on ebay. Thats also the 3 or 4 differnt ebay name Ive seen him use.

It looks like a cut in half tie rod. I think he welded pipe to it for shackle mounts. He is hanging the spring from a tie rod!

Damn, you're right. Same story with me...bought my model A body from him, back in his red primer days. Thing was a pile of bondo'd ****, the top of the car was screwed to the bottom half, ****ty homemade patch panels screwed and pop-riveted, frame was worthless due to DEEP pits, etc. My excitement at getting a 5 window and my ignorancee allowed me to buy it. Two doors, a decklid and about 300 miles of mig wire made it only halfway decent when primered, although I would have had to unattach the entire top half to make a level car. Seems like his name was Bud.

Yep mine was his red primer days also. Mine was ok after all new patch panels and a new door. He claimed to me that he had bought it that way and didnt do any of the work on it. But I know that was a bunch of ****. Live and learn I guess I wont buy anytine with a fresh coat of primer on it anymore from a picture, you can hide alot of **** under it.

Yep he had a 55 chevy his name was buds55 when I bought mine but Ive seen him use a bunch of differnt names to sell stuff most have 55 in them.

When I bid on something on ebay I wail untell the last minute to bid so that doesnt happen. Some seller dont like it but I dont like bidding against the guys wife or buddy either.

yeah .it happens a lot. one of my club members from new jersey bought a model a body from a reputable builder from san diego that posts regularly on the hamb. the thing practically turned to dust when he got it....i like that that stuff gets settled quick if bought through the hamb, but the auction site is a whole other arena where anything goes...

  14. Aside from the seller's interesting proclivities about truth, it strikes me that using a parallel spring front axle could make for a very nice suicide type front end.

Some kind of good looking batwing setup to terminate the front end of the 4 bars or radius rods bolted to the spring pads and utilizing all four bolt holes could work quite well.

maybe it is so he can roll it? Maybe it's to mock it up? Lets pray the poor sob that buys it changes it before he takes it for a ride..

  17. I made a U turn in this guys driveway. I bought a 31 coupe body from him about 3yrs ago on ebay, drove a ton of hours to get there, it was swiss cheesed & paper thin everywhere, the pics were strategically taken to not show it. It was so thin I ripped the area where the B-pillar meets the roof just showing him how weak it was. He had a couple of other pieces of junk there he was getting ready to sandblast & red oxide prime also. You could have stomped it flat like an old cardboard box. That's also when he was buds55 or whatever. He does this kind of thing totally and 100% on purpose, he offered no excuse and wouldn't give me the gas money wasted on his lies. (I even called him and talked about everything about it on the phone before the auction was over, he 100% straight out lied.) Talk about self-restraint, I thought real hard about how far away I could get before he came to, but knew I'd be too identifiable on the highway with Illinois plates and an empty trailer. He's a crook.

One panic stop and that suicide axle will be rather aptly named. Should be called a catapault front end. That's what's going to happen when the front of the frame digs into the asphalt at high speed.

Mine from him had 2 bolts finger tight. Could have lost the whole thing off the back of the trailer. The dumb *** let me load it for a 1200 mile trip that way.

  22. Front brakes? Why would you need those? They're for pussies.
And I think the phrase you're looking for is '****-up'.
I think we've all done some ****ed up things, especially just starting out as kids... but at least there's someone else out there making us look good!

  24. Not one thing on that heap is worth $1200.

The steel rod welded to the doors as profile lines is particularly fetching though!

Guaranteed that the winner is a ****er though.

Hell at least it's got a spring on it. I saw a 'ratrod' at a local show last year that had an F100 axle BOLTED directly to the front crossmember. At least that guy admitted he couldn't really drive it, he flat-tows it to shows and drives it in the gate.
