4" white wall radials out there?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Homewrecker, Jun 12, 2007.

  1. I'm discarding my worn out L78 15 w/4" white walls for a set of like radials.
Am I gonna have to settle for 3 1/2" white walls?
Thanks for any help on this.

3 1/8" whitewalls are pretty big and considering that you're going from bias plys to radials, I doubt 7/8s of an inch is going to be the detering factor.

Since the original poster seems to have found his answer, maybe someone can humor me and answer my related question.

WHY? How in the world does Coker sell a tire you can get elsewhere for less than $50 or at most half the price for a very high quality tire, simply because it has a whitewall?

    http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fi...&cs=235&pc=15011&rcc=&rd=15&ar=75&ct=&rf=true

That's $752 for a set of 4. The above are $188 for a set of 4 and eh, even though I can't justify $50 for 12 oz of paint, add the $50 to the above and you are still only at $238.

Supply and demand is the only thing I can think of. Aside from traditionalists how are willing to sacrifice looks for ride quality, how many WWW radials can you sell. Still, it seems that you would be able get them cheaper; but then again bias plys are...

You won't be disappointed if you go with the Cokers. Don't forget to ask for your Allience discount. It makes a noticable difference.

I spent last Saturday really cleaning up Big Olds. I hadn't scrubed his wheels and tires since sometime last year and they were filthy, the dirtiest they have ever been. Tried the stuff that came with the tires but I wasn't as happy with the amount time and effort with the scrub brush that I was having to use so I got out my Simple Green and the grime practicly melted off like butter off an ear of corn. The tires actually look better then new. I have to use sunglasses now to look at them. :D

    Go with the Cokers

I picked up some Westley's Bleche-Wite at Kragen and it works wonders. Cleaned my Sears G78-14s up like almost new.

The charge is to add white walls to your tires.

Ya get what you pay for.
I put too many miles on my car to be dicking around with inferior tires or anything for that matter. Not saying these are BUT IMHO why take the chance. Go with a highly recommend product, especially when something so important as your car is riding on them.
