Gloss black is WAY nicer....everyone paints satin or flat black these days....it's way to trendy.

don't paint it anything but shiny something.

    imho

since you're asking for opinions, you obviously have doubts....i say keep it gloss, if you really dig the satin look, then check out some other colors. my pickup is satin, and a flat black rattlecanned lebaron (WTF!) parked next to me, and i was embarrased. even though i shot mine with a sprayer, it still made me feel just as cheap as "ol' lebaron" next to me. i guess to each his own though.

paint it whatever way you like it...if you are asking, you are probably already leaning toward it...satin black looks nice...end of story. My cars body came to me black and red firewall, I was thinking about changing it, and, I will probably will when the bodywork is done ( perhaps the Guinness color scheme! ) but, don't NOT do something just because everyone else IS doing it either...thats just as gay as DOING it because everyone is...If you legitimately are tired of seeing the same thing, and want to be different, fine, but, don't NOT do something you want to do, because ass-loads of wanna-be's are doing it now...YOU know who you are, Fuck everyone else if they think your "just following a trend"...

well reason is the old paint needs work..acctually a re-paint is in order, this winter. So ive got time. The top is Gloss as you see. The car has attitude..built 327 . th350..10 bolt rear 3:73 for the e-way..turbo exhaust thru the 80" lake pipes. going with 8" rims and as wide a tire as i can go with soon..and already has some von dutch style pinstripe work on it..the body needs to be ultra strait for black gloss..she would need some tlc to get her that strait..but it can be done and yes she would look nice all black with that white top and my sun visor off of an old gmc truck..the delta style..

Are those decals on the side? Auto Zone? If so, I'd ditch those and keep it how it is!:)

yup, the car is probably a bit confused too!

I prefer a crappy old gloss paint job to flat black..but then I like just about anything better than flat (satin) black....

dont have the money to make it ultra straight..that is the reason for the question about the satin paint..not rattle can but there is a paint out there called Hot Rod black and it is a one stage 2 coat system that comes out satin..not flat flat flat it has a slight sheen to it

leave the paint alone,Take off the stickers, Take of the Tint on the windows (If it has it can't tell)
paint the wheels Black or white, get some white walls, don't suicide the rear doors...(Really Gay) remove bumper gaurds.
you'll save alot of money and the car will look nice,,,Clean..

Customizing also ment getting rid of stuff,,,Less is more somtime..

    Thats what I would do.

I would shave the handels as well and you should be able to blend the gloss black with out painting the whole car...

Do you want to blend in with the sea of flat black "rat rod" four doors that seem to be at all the car shows nowadays?

Lose the stickers, leave it glossy. A nice gloss black paint job is one of the best paint jobs a car can wear.

it is low..just cant tell by the angle of the shot..rear is down 4 inches and front dropped too. as for taking off stuff..too many cars dont have their stock trim..and its not because they didnt want it ..its because they couldnt find it. the stickers are going..it was only temporary and there isnt window tint any more

2 more years...black wheels will be "the new" red wheels! haha...don't take this shit too seriously, and really, its your car: make your own decision, no one else has to drive it! Satin black always looks soft, smooth...it does not reflect back a complex miriad of highlights, and is always nice, poker straight, gloss black car...equally stunning! I'm not saying paint it either one, just don't NOT do it 'cuz the guy's with the satin black/red wheeled lebaron's will have won...:D

If you don't have the money to get it ready to paint then I can't possibly see the reason to start doing major reconstuction like suiciding the doors. Looks like a cool car like it is. Evel had some good suggestions.
But then again it's yours. Do what you want.

I agree with the trim I didn't mention that..but the handels and bumper gaurds should go...thats what a Custom is all about...Suicide door is not right..if your going to do that much work on the doors save yourself the time and just do the handels.

Again this is what I would do..in the end its your car and you should do what makes you happy.

    Just my 2 cents

I vote to stay gloss black.... I just think it fits the car better and the gloss really shows off the curves!

  28. Haha! That's what I was gonna say.

Check out Django's Father's day thread...buffed out, you might really like the way your paint looks.

I took a second look at the pic and thought: the gloss is just fine and I think you might really like it once it is lower. It crazy how losing a couple inches makes everything look good!
