most of you know already that its sold. i finally stopped stressing out about moving enough to go work on it, think, work on it, and think more till my head hurts. just gotta have everything planned out before i do it.

the cuts on the gas tank arent perfect ill go back and clean everything up when i do the final assembly. i gotta thread the end of the drag link(stock model A) i got this female tie rod end that fit nice part #ES2772 instead of buying a coupler.

shortened the pitman arm and column as i stated earlier today.

Im not a professional or anything but I think you get a better weld when you grind the rust off the metal first.

So since you sold this one, any plans to build another?

well seeing as i gas welded the entire body(and only the body) i dont think the flame cares if its rusty...... ill prolly get a bunch of grief for saying that..... also.... i used coat hangers(as you can see in the picture) if i ground it down to "clean" metal..... there wouldnt be much left of those rear quarters.

yeah yeah here come the comments... "youre a dumbass, i hate you, you should go kill yourself....." i can hear them already.

anyway, maybe in a few years. depending on how good a job i find. but i think im going to stick with customs/leadsleds. the hotrod thing isnt really my thing.

My dime .. Ok its a model a body or it was. Kinda looks fucked up now. I wouldnt go into automotive design if i were you.. It really needs rear 1/4 windows to look right.

I think for being a pile of derelict parts it looks OK. Quarter windows or not. Its not going to be a GNRS winner, but you get the drift.

That said I would NOT want to be in/near/infront of or behind this "thing" if/when it gets up to speed on a public road.

its not even finished yet, i dont know why everyone has to be such an asshole about it. i wanted a 3 window not a 5, and i think it looks fine. let me finish it before you give it your comments.

im so sick of everyone on this site always trying to be an ass to me. i try and help people out all the time and compliment peoples cars too. sometimes i give people a hard time about s10 frames and 70s motors ect. but i dont see how that equals everyone passing negative judgment on my car THATS NOT EVEN DONE.

"oh i dont want to be anywere near this thing" YEAH ok....im sure its just going to fall apart all over the road*sarcasm*

anyway, i think im done with this site, ill be busy with my new place and job anyway. so later

It always weirds me out when someone can't take criticism of what they're doing after apparently starting a thread to get it. I'd rather have it as I go than after I'm done. If you want encouragement, go to the bar, if you want an honest opinion, make a post on the HAMB. There's a reason I haven't posted any of my 'work' on this site...

  21. Don't be scared of what some guy thinks, hes just some guy, hell you prolly don't even know him, and if its solid enough to drive you the guy who built it would know that better than anyone. Don't worry about peoples smartass comments its just people being people. I would blame all HAMBers most are pretty cool when you need some help on a topic.

Kid give up its fucking ugly its gonna kill someone they way youve built it and you might as well admit you dont know Jack SHIT about building a car.. Go polish your skate board . Be a lot better than trying to finish that POS that will prolly kill someone.

    In his defense:
    1.Its not finished
2.We (or at least I) have not seen it in person
3.At least hes building and learning. There are lots of guys who think they can build a car without ever doing so but they have no idea.

Nick, when I met you last year at the Hamb drags, you came across as a nice guy.
after reading your posts, you really ARE a nice guy.

this guy Draggin, however...well, if you fling enough poop at people, sooner or later, they come back with a bucket full of your own poop to deposit in your lap.

as far as the car is concerned, I don't see a ton of planning...I understand building on a budget, and I can see where he was goin, but I think a bit more patience would have paid off in the long run.

in short...good concept, poor execution. I like the truck into coupe idea, and I actually like the idea of deleted 1/4 glass, there is some more that needs to be done back there-before he started welding. some of the lines are too abrupt, but again, I like the concept.

Dunno Draggin...mabey next time you can spend more time on it. not bashing-just suggesting.

I can however see that with some more practice, you're gonna make 1 hell of a gas welder- seriously- just follow the progress around the car- the gas welds go from (sorry) crappy to pretty freakin good!

Don't give up on Hot Rods on account of assholes like me. I started my first car build right around the time you were born (had a good grandad) and am set in my ways.

Some of the welds surely do look decent, but they'd prolly be stellar if he'd have bothered to clean the rust off the metal before starting and maybe welded in an enclosed structure so that his shielding gas (yes that gas is shielding gas before it melts the metal) gets blown away in the breeze. I've found in my VERY LIMITED experience building cars that cutting corners to save time or money always ends up costing more money in the long run. Of course, if your short term plan is to dump it on someone else, cash their check, and skip town - it prolly won't cost HIM more money. Bad karma, though, if you believe in that sort of thing...

Oh yeah, I know a handful of welding rod is like $4 from the welding supply store, but it sure makes it easier to weld than coat-hangers...

Yeah, that did get ugly fast.... At the same time though, you can't defend yourself by stating your using coathangers for welding rod man. There is a real structural difference between the two, which is why people posted what they did.

Anyway, best of luck to you.

Draggin this ride would be pretty sweet "finished" I like the Idea.

  29. I like the idea of the truck into a coupe, I thought it was different. I don't know why ya'll say its dangerous or whatever, i didn't really look that much but, hey its not done. I did like the body though I thought it was a super cool Idea and I've never seen anybody do that with truck and coupe bodies.
And by the way It's not finished just in his defense

By the way if somebody knocks your car its not gonna get any better when you post a post about how much these assholes hurt your feelings.
