'49-'52 Chevy Bumper question....

will a '49-'52 chevy CAR front bumper fit on a '53 chevy???

i ask cause i need one for my '53 and can't find one, but can find 'em for the '49-'52s....

yea, i'm shooting for a one piece.

NCA sells 'em for the earlier chevys, just not the '53-'54s....hopefully someone will answer....

 

I've seen the question asked a few times here and on Chevytalk...the '49-52 won't fit and I don't think anyone repops a '53. The '54 is totally different.

Keep an eye on Fleabay or check the cl***ifieds here and on Chevytalk...I see 'em being parted out all the time and I'm pretty sure there's one on CT right now.

yea, i've never seen any re-pops of the '53s at all, and i've searched a ton!

yea, like i said, i figured the '49-'52s were narrower than the '53s...

i've got a '53 bumper that's bent out at one of the ends....i guess i'll just be heating and bending that thing back....

Damn. I've got a '49 (cdn) Pontiac parts car with sweet chrome and the ***y little license plate guard... Definitely wanted to put that on my 53.

 

Bumpers by Briz out of Vancouver Washington makes ribbed aluminum bumpers to fit most cars including the Chevy style license plate guards to fit the ribbed bumpers.The aluminum bumpers are usually cheeper than rechroming an original. Check out their web site on Google. Hope this helps. Vern.

 

Not saying you can't do a little work to make it happen, it's just not a bolt-in. I'm planning on using a '56 rear bumper on my '51 which will take a little m***aging.

I have a 49 on front of my 53, one piece with guard, but you need to trim the center of the gravel guard just a little. They have a less of a curve,
