This just came up on the nsra web site...take a look at what was happening back then..(just ignore the south coast of America bit..lol) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2miGs0sdyI
Haha, ah, I was a kid in the early 80's and yeah, you certainly got some sweet rides over here, then. Go to a car show now and you're swamped with 90's Camaro's and Mussies. FFS, I remember going to shows when I was 10 and seeing a dozen late fifties Caddies in a line - you don't get that here anymore . . it's all modern **** - except if you go to specific 'Rod shows.
My first car show was the Belle Vue Rod and Custom in 1976, I didn't know that such things existed, my mind was officially blown, I haven't been the same since. I was wearing four ****on bellbottoms, platform shoes, a plastic coated paper jacket and I had center parted hair.
Hey Nads not sure if you will remember me but i was with Vince when we came to see you in Kissamee at the old town cruise in 05. Steve.
Hell yeah, I remember you, I love your ****, you build some good stuff, your T knocks my socks off. Vince and Michelle were here not so long ago, we had a great with them.
Really cool vid. What's ironic is that the ****boxes you see in the background are now considered collector's cars, who woulda thought an Austin Allegro would be sought after. I was in London in 1985 and I went to the Chelsea Cruise, a dude in a Consul Capri gave me a ride simply because I told him I had one Stateside. I had a really swell time, it's pretty much done now, right?
NICE Vid !! I belive I saw that nice Impala at a car show in Sweden back in the early eighties.A pair of outstanding "british" cars attended that show ( Belive it was a show held in Stockholm by "Wheels magazine " . If so , the Impala attended in companion with a VERY nicely chopped `51 Mercury ( that was for sale &was sold at that event ) I might be wrong , but looking at that vid you posted , I`m quite sure it was the same Impala ... Excellent post !! Klaz
We,re still around, I still have the impala ,I ****ed up the west coast line and had happily forgotten it until yesterday.......
Funny how the internet has the power to bring back those little things from the past that we thought were long gone Milt! Really enjoyed the clip, never thought I'd see the Battersea garages on film....
Milt you looked so young there & Stewart was soooo thin back then (haha so was i) That was funny to see, i recognised his voice first & the the garage below the flats........ in fact thats the last time i saw the Impala back in '87 when i bought the Buick from you guys. Kev.
