So I've been getting more than a few requests for a Billetproof show in the NorthWest... so here is your opportunity to lobby for it coming to your hometown, or at least close by.

    Host Club
    - if your car club wants to step up and host, let me know, this will help determine the area it goes to. A good host club can go a long way to making a good show

Area - Under consideration: Seattle, Portland, Longview (inbetween Seattle and Portland), Spokane, Yakima (inbetween Spokane and Seattle). Make an argument for your area, or what area you think would be best.

Venue - Pitch me on a cool venue. I've heard there is an old drag strip in Yakima. I'm sure there are some nice parks/fairgrounds to be had in any of the areas. Drive in Movie Theaters, Old AirForce bases, Converted Toxic Waste Dumps... whatcha got?

    Last but not least...

Cars/Participants - if Billetproof came to the Great NorthWest would you drag your heap out to the show? Would your club come out and enjoy a day of Billetproof Fun?

I'm looking at coming up to the Puyallup and/or Spokane GoodGuys shows to check out cars, places and most importantly meet ya'll.

Send me a PM, or email at alan@billetproof.com. Or if yer really serious and can spare the dime for a call, 916-207-4645.

Gets hot east of mountains......If event was held in the Olympia area, I think it would draw cars from Oregon and Canada.....
    I know I'd go within a 3 hour drive........

(No to yakima!!!)Arlington has a pretty historic dragstrip also I think alot of the Swindlers live up that way as far as clubs go??... Also Georgetown in South Seattle would be a great setting for it..Your best bet for decent weather in the NW is after July 4th up until early Sept.....
Although it would be cool to have a nice rainy day on a dirt circle track hehe!!!

...southern oregon,example...dragstrip in medford, fairgrounds, river, parks, sunny warm, and between cal and washington, good people...what's not to like!!

  8. I think the idea was to get one away from California, that's too far south.Less chance of rain east of the Cascade mountains, like in Spokane. We used to race boats in Moses Lake area.Great weather, lots of motels, more central so every direction has a decent distance to drive.;)

    Late fall is good.

    My 2 cents...

Okay, I'll lobby for Medford: Halfway between SF and Seattle (think of your demographic and the numbers between those towns). Hungry new guys running dragstrip (I'm connected there), open to event ideas. Great weather from April to July - September to October (otherwise hot). Town is open to new events, plus it's a "car town". Lots of parks, lakes, mountains, etc, around for mixing outside interests. Seattle and Bay Areas are both saturated with car events already. As far as traditional clubs - there's only a few small ones here, but they're really hungry for something like this...

  16. Our club has been looking for a new Program. We used to put on the Largest one day event in the Pacific North West and did for 25 Succesful Years. We'd still be doing it but Clark County decided our Contrabutions to local needy Grade School kids, and Make a Wish didn't matter enough to keep our Fair Grounds availoble to us. Our Group has selebrated it's 50th Anneversy, is over 100 members strong and have a social event every Friday of every Week all year long. Our Age Group span from 20 something to Many active Charter members. We know how to have a "Good Time". We also Drive the Shit out of our Cars. We aint no Look but don't Touch Nose in the Air M,F'ers. I think we would be a Grate Group to help make a new Billetproof a succesful event somewhere in a 100 mile or so radius of the Portland/Vancouver aria. We don't have formal meetings but I'll bring this up this Friday and see what kind of feed back I get. I'm sure it will be positive. I'd like to see this happen and would like to be part of it.
Let's stay in touch and you can P.M. me here for now.

Arlington would be GREAT !. Nice big field - but You cant use the Dragstrip.
If You did want to have Drag Races too, Shelton might be worth looking into.
At any of the regular running tracks Pacific - Bremerton - Yakima or Spokane
its major bucks to put on a (hotrod only) race. NHRA has a hold on the rest except Spokane - AHRA but I dont think Shelton is tied in yet. Ya might talk to the Boys and Girls club of Arlington they put on the Dragstrip reunions.

Might be able to hook up with the Customs Northwest Club that put on the Unfinished Nationals out near Elma (Grays Harbor Fairgrounds). I'm pretty sure they have it late August/early September. I only went once and it was a pretty cool vibe.

I'm all over that idea, and I'm sure allot of us Canucks from BC and Alberta would come down. Weather is usually very nice from August into late September.

  21. Feder; I'm a member of the Vancouver Slo Poks and our event was The Ash Bash. I met Old Beet there when he was driving his Wifes Chopped Merc. then Momenterally at Elma when he was helping with a 54 Chev Chop. Don't belive You and I have met yet.

I'd probably attend if its anywhere along I-5 between Salem and the Canadian border.

Hot rod arama is the first weekend in August and Unfinished Nationals is Labor Day weekend. I'm not likely to try to new show instead of one of those.

FEDER the "Wizzard" is in the collest club ever!!!! SLO POKES rule. They started when I was about 10 or so. I'm 66 now, you do the math. They have donated more $ than any club, bar none. These guys know how to get it done! Thanks again Wizz!...........OLDBEET

  24. Another vote for Seattle area. Since you get the same crowd as Hotrod-o-rama, what about the weekend before or after? A lot of Canadians and east siders come over for that, and I bet they'd make a week of it if they were back to back. Just a thought.

  27. Fed-n-Beet thanks for the Kind words. This Group of Guys was built on being Good friends and having Fun. Having some of the Baddest Race Cars of the time helped. Tons of History Here. The Word in the Wind Sounds like some of us will be up north Good Guys weekend, word has it there may be an un-vailing of an Old restored National record holder, it's Origional Owner and Origional Driver. I belive an Old Slo Pok has something to do with it.
    Maybe we can meet then.

  28. Oh hell yeah! Providing I aint working that weekend. Low man on the totem pole and all that. Bremerton,Pacific Raceways, would be good for drags. Elma has Grays harbor fairgrounds with a nice dirt track I hear. I guess I need to hit the unfinished nats and find out. But hell yeah I would go!

I vote for the Portland/Vancouver area. Since Tacoma/Seattle has hotrodarama already. I vote for early September to Early October. The population of Eastern Oregon/Washington is sparse, and adding another mountain range to crosss could discourage those from the Norther Cali from coming.

I would go for sure anytime you have it. It could even happen indoors if need be. I already drive all the way to Antioch for that one.
