Hey 50mercfan, it ain't sad unless you're givin' up on the dream! Looks like there's a lot less to do now than when ya started! Lot's of luck on finishing her up.
Heres one my Dad built for a guy here in town. Dont know what ever happened to it or were its at now. The car had seats out of a 64 t-bird, even the split back seat.Sorry the pics suck but that's all I've got of it. Hey by the way does anybody know the width of a stock 50 merc rear end?
Hey Joe, Don't take offense. It's just my opinion. Everytime someone posts pic's of that show,I don't see anything that looks like James Deans car,or the kinda style I like. That doesn't mean there isn't any nice ones there. I just don't see any posted that are the kind I like. Mercs done in the 80's and 90's usually suck, just like most street rods done in that period. There's plenty out here in Cali, that are ugly also. I don't claim to have the "market",or be an expert. I just love Mercs. Some that I posted aren't really my style either. But many ideas can be taken from them. Don't be sooo sensitive. A simple "Bob,I disagree",will do. No personal attacks necessary. The bad thing about computers is,you can't see the expression of the person posting. Take a deep breath, and feel free to debate. I plan on going to the James Dean show, and take my Merc. I'd love to chat with fellow Mercury guys.
Here's a couple of shots of Dave & Chrissy Pareso's Merc from the Colorado Springs area. I like it parked next to my Deuce, they compliment each other. PS; That Merc is for sale at the moment if you know anyone lookin', PM me and I'll hook ya up with Dave.
