'37 Ford, chopped a couple'a inches and the whole schpeel is channeled another coupl'a inches. Fenders will stay, different wheels, tires, sbc, th350, 8 inch rear and AC, sounds like a....street rod! shudder! Whatever, it will be bitchin' that's all I know. 4 inch drop axle, reversed eye springs front and rear, P&J's ladder bars, etc.. Was going to be Squeeg's Kustoms shop truck but I had to have it, own it, live it..... I'm giddy like the school girl that just bought my F-100!

  4. If you don't already have the engine, may I suggest taking a look at the small block Mopar?

Even smaller than the SBC & probably an easier swap.

An excellent long lasting engine and in fact the 318 version had the best warranty rating of any engine Detroit ever produced.

    They come in 273, 318, 340 & 360.

A little looking may net you a 340 with an attached 4 speed and I think some of the late models come with a modern 5 speed attached.

NOooooooooooooo...don't change the wheels! They look absolutely perfect on your new p'up, which is Beetchin, BTW..
    I have spoken.
And I like Jay's SB mopar endorsement. When I worked in the salvage yard bidness, the racks were completely full of 318's and 360 mopar engines...we couldn't give 'em away and there was a good reason. They never broke and needed replacement so they never sold. Hell, we even put one in our old yard-forklilft [25,000 pounder] when the original flathead 6 gave out. This was back in 78 and as far as I know it's still in there.
    Great truck

I would totally consider the Mopar, but I have the engine and all the go-fast finned aluminum stuff to go widdit.

The wheels are going back to the prior owner, Duggy, for his next project. I've got a set of Real Wheels that are going on it, little kidney bean jobs, trust, me, it'll be sweet enough. I'd like to end up having alternate sets of wheels and tires, and Kelsey's would certainly be one of the choices.

Jeem, congrats on the new project.. have you gotten the pencil and crayons out to put your thoughts to paper...

I look forward to the build, I assume that means the Ebay deal went smooth and the truck has a new home...

OH, I agree, you need to find a set of wires like it has now for its alternate look, (one goes full hotrod, the other more timeless classic hotrod)

Since you already have an engine to put in it and realize the wheels on it are cool there isn't much need to note either.

    Cool truck.

Nice find, Jeem. I'm not usually a big fan of chopped tops on '35-'37 pickups, but that one is just right. I'd like to see it stay on Kelseys, but the Real Wheels sound good too.

Gonna keep the fenders and running boards, I hope?

Congrats man! So, you're gonna keep it sitting at the same stance, right?
    Looks great Jimmy!

I know where there is a 360 and a 727 just waiting for such a home.

Tony, that is EXACTLY what I thought too. Doug and crew have the eye. Yes, the fenders and boards stay, nothing cooler than a fender'd car that is LOW.

Huh?! Thanks for the moral support earlier.ha

We can talk! Got the ladder bars covered.

Si, my Austin-ite friend! Might have to raise it after the engine is in, depends how low the nose ends up.

Needs a lot, but I think I actually stand a good chance of screwing this truck together in time....
