I'm looking to change the wheels on my car to Smoothie Baby Moons with white walls (thick white) around them. Where should I shop to get this combination? I've been looking around, but these Baby Moons don't seem to be very popular, and I'd really like to just have the white walls thrown on and shipped to my house.

So where should I order these from?

    Thanks

They're not very popular because they're about the same quality as Rustler brand jeans, although the jeans are popular because K-Mart shoppers just don't give a fuck. Please give a fuck and don't make the same mistake as we Floridians have.

  3. Yeah, see the "frenched headlights suck" thread and just pretend you're reading "moon speed discs" every time some one says frenched headlight kit.

What kind of car so you have? Post a pic and maybe we can give some constructive feedback.

I'd run red painted steelies before I'd run those things. Ha ha!

They don't look too bad with Shannon Cones but you gotta wax 'em every four hours or they start to look like Richard D's underpants.

American Racing has the wheels. They used to be available at Pep Boys.

Coker Tire is your best bet for the wide whites. Come to think of it, Coker may be able to fix you up all the way around.

are you guys saying that Moon Equip. makes bad baby-moons, or all discs of that style are no-good? I was thinking of slappin' them on my car...

I've had mine 7 years and no problems with rust or discoloration so I guess it depends on who you get them from.

See theem here (Summit Racing Link)

I love em and they look great - been on the teardrop for a few years now - nary a problem.

As for the WWW - go Coker!

sometimes, nads types what my brain thinks. they're the best of both worlds, if you like ugly and cheap...

seriously, spend a tiny bit more money on chrome 'oe' wheels from summit, we'll all be better off...

I'm putting them on a customized '94 Merc Villager.

I had no idea they were so hated though. It was between these baby moons and wire wheels. I thought the baby moons would look pretty good. The paint is flat black, and I was looking for the contrast with white and chrome for the tires/wheels.

well, not quite, but pretty close. I say to make sure to add plenty of corn and peanuts to really set it off.

Okay, I guess I asked for that. This is my daily driver, not some hot rod or gasser or anything. Right now I don't have the money/space to start what I'm looking for (trifive Chevy) so I'm just fooling around with this van. A lot of work has already been done with it.

I first started out this project in order to have a surfing van. I gutted out the back. It became the perfect surf vehicle but still looked shitty (obviously). So I've been putting a personal touch on it. It's different, and you might not like it. But I don't give a fuck.

Pictures will come with the final result.

  15. You have a '94 Mercury Villiager van and you surf in New Jersey?

Jeeeze! Another guy who needs to step away from the bong.

ok, so why not just clean it up and keep it simple? the only thing that comes along with polishing a turd is...well, shiny shit.

Umm, smoothies are pretty much the most popular wheel around, and the quality is just as good as every other wheel. I think some people may have thought you were talking about the Chinese snap on moon discs

JEGS carries all sorts of wheels and tires. These come with the hubcaps and are quite reasonable.

  22. I have a set on my daily driver truck, with wide whites. I live in Missouri, and they have seen snow, salt, and rain. I've had no problems with rust, and I don't put anything on them, I just keep them clean. I bought them from a vender at one of the bigger swap meets in Missouri. Brand new in the box for less than $200.00 with caps. I think they are Wheel Vintiques. My Dad has a set on his 40 Chevy, been on there for 25 years, no rust problems either. Dean

Wide Whites and chrome smoothies on a mini-van. It'll look like a diamond, er, I mean a cubic zirconia in a goats ass. Why bother?

Because I'd rather have a cubic zirconia in a goats ass then just a goats ass. Think about it...

I don't think they are bad looking wheels either, they just look too modern for me. They date a car to the late '70s or later, and chrome OEs look so much better.

It's your machine, do what you want.

I think that wide whites on on late model POSs look silly (even PT Cruisers). I guess it will draw attention ("Hey Louie, look at that bitchin' goats ass!":) ).

P.S. You can get the wheels, caps and tires delivered to your home mounted, balanced and ready to bolt to the vehicle from Coker Tire.

Look, I never thought this '94 was going to be as hot as a 5 window coupe or anything. I didn't expect it to turn heads like a '57 gasser. But I have it. So why keep it looking like something a 40 year old woman with 5 kids would drive? Hell no. This is going to be the only one of itself on the road. And I like that.
