  1. I saw this rolling abortion at a show in Md. last summer. Christ, you'd need a tetnus shot just to get near the damn thing. I can see it now, rolling down the boulevard, shards of flesh hanging off of it.....

That blue chevy is actually pretty well done, if it was created "back in the day".

I'll have to get pictures of the FoMoCo-Half Car thing I bought about two years ago.

A little better, but not much. If someone gave it to me I think I would part it out! And plowboy could put that bubble to better use, I'm sure.

I actually think that blue Chevy with the '57 fins is pretty cool looking ... it just needs some help. The front fenders just need to be changed to hide more of the wheel.

I saw the pics of that finned Chevy sedan on Chevybombs.com too.

Check out the roof mounted fuel filler. I wonder where the tank is mounted.

  8. I was wondering the same thing. Can't see the benefit of that one.

I think this must have been a common custom mod back in the early 50s. The picture below is from the January 1952 issue of Hop Up. Same sort of thing. This was in "Readers rides" and the text says it's a 1935 Chrysler Airflow (!!!!!) with 48 caddy rear fenders.

I'd bet the blue car in the photos has been hacked up to make something else by now but it looks like an old custom to me.

It's painfully apparent, some people should not be allowed modify cars without proper supervision. Or, maybe someone should check thier meds.

Oh sweet Jesus! I've got the flu right now, and that did not help my stomach at all.

  20. Chad S,
I'm sure "hotroddaddy" has more pic's of his car,but I don't think he would dare post them on this thread. He's probably avoiding this at all cost!

Here ya go , you asked for them, there kinda dark , but if you want more i can take them.

As far as avoiding this thread, not gonna happen, i can take it, when a person steps out of the normal build styles, they can expect some criticism, i really could care less if you guys wanna make fun of my car, my car makes alot of people happy, so what if a few hate it.

Also if you want more check all the forums ,its on most of them. If you want to have your own halloween car, use your imagination, and creativity, oh wait ,you would have to have some first, sorry, i guess you will have to copy other styles, like most car builders.

Right on brother. While I might not have taken my car in the same direction you have, I admire the fact that you stand by your decisions. Most of the haters are probably just jealous cause they wish they had a merc.

    All right, hear me out.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say thats not it at all. To each his own, but I guess you've probably been getting shit for the way you "built" your car from day one. Since you obviously have no respect for the traditional kustom; what you might refer to as the unimaginative, uncreative, copy-cat, follow the leader mentality, I wonder why you hang around a sight that celebrates the beauty of the car itself and revels in the overall design and how small changes set off some already gorgeous lines ... TRADITION.
I love to see any old car on the road, but I'll admit it almost pains me to see an old merc half-assed (sorry) into getting on the road and attracting attention. Before you ask or make a snide comment about my being jealous of the car, or where's my car, I'll tell you the truth: It's in my garage, in pieces, a long way from completion. That's because I'd like to think I recognize the potential beauty of the lines, and how a lot of hard work and effort will massage those toward perfection and I have no intention of rushing just so I can drive around in an old car that wants to be a custom and scream, "Look at me!! I'm a badass, look how I fucked up this great car! I don't give a fuck, check out the skulls!"
Maybe this car is really "you" and what you want. Great. But maybe you'll grow out of this "phase" and wake up one day and realize you can really make this car stand out, not by tacking a bunch of cheezy shit on it and calling it good, but by finessing and using some of those "overdone" methods to make the car stand out for its craftsmanship and uniqueness and not because it's flat black and orange and covered in plastic skulls.
Whatever. Like I said, it's your car. I suppose one can only wish that someday you'll get tired of getting dirty looks from real craftsman and sell the damn thing to someone who will try to undo what has been done.
    Peace.

    Gas City Gearhead likes this.
  27. hotroddaddy,plus12,
Here's what I started with. Kinda like yours. Just think,I could've added some skulls and cobweb shit, and been "original" like you.[IMG]
