Sam, The details of that truck can be found here. My favorite RPU on the board. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189755&highlight=cragar
Sorry I had to take off before the group shot.....of course, that might have been why the pic turned out so good!! Good to see some old friends (moondisc, Tony) and to meet some new ones.
I have plenty from the build, but they are to large to post! I will post some when I figure out how to shrink them.
Nice to meet you NITROFC, and other 'new' HAMBer's i hadn't met before..Also great to see the one's i knew...Moondisc(pie)..Ken (gasser54chevy) i think..well, those are the words but maybe not the order..and your dad. Man, he's cool as hell! Tagman..as alway's a pleasure, and Buford T Justice..good to see you again too...And of course a couple non HAMBer's that i know check on here from time to time.. Thanks Chuck, great to see you again man! There were some pretty nice ride's there again..i didn't take any pics this year though..Just kinda took it all in instead. That 36 was called "Time Bomb" and was abso-fucking-lutely PERFECT! I was in awe at the detail, fit and finish of that car..Picture's don't do it justice! It wouldn't be Syracuse if it didn't rain like a sunofabitch at least one day, this year we had two..plus some nice cold gad damn air too.. Also had the chance to meet Jim Rizzo from Street Rodder too. Man what a cool guy. Way down to earth. We were bull shitting like we've known each other for years..Met Dixie as well..Didn't spend as much time with him at all, pretty much just said hi but he still stopped what he was doing to say hey..both cool guy's.. Overall it was a good show.. Not as hot as usual which made it a lot better. Oh well..another year down. I'm just glad the stovebolt held together yet again..even with a small knock it keep's on going. Thanks for the pics Tony
hey it was good to meet yall it seems like or i expected it too be all younger guys but i was very pleasently surprised too meet some of the older guys. hey tony im gonna take ya up on that chop on the new project .at least i got to kick the 54 in the ass a few times bfore her new owner takes her away
Yeah the show was good. I also met some fellow Hambers......It is good to put a face with the person. I am going to go on vation for a couple weeks and then tear the tranny apart on my 39 Ford. it has a top loader original 39 tranny. Before I staart I will be asking some tech ?? I am sure. Anyway great show and looking forward to getting to the next.
Ditto what everyone said. Good to see old friends and make some new ones. Al, always a pleasure to break your balls "and vice-versa" hehe That banger powered RPU was my favorite of the show. I felt like a big pile of shit when I saw it on the side of the thruway on the way home. The ole lady was driving the 41, I followed in the motorhome, and couldn't get stopped to see if he needed help. A few miles later the 41 quit "problem with the pickup in the tank I think" I felt better when the RPU went flying by.
I must be blind.I walked all around the Grand stand and did not see the HAMB banner anywhere.I would have liked to meet all you guys but was it all over by 11:15?? I will be posting some pics and a funny television interview on my web-site .Check it out at www.timebombs.ca
We were only able to spend about 4 hrs. at the show on Friday. I took a bunch of pictures, here are a few of my favorites.
No banner, and Tony's copper 54 custom was the only HAMB car there. I was the only one with a HAMB shirt on, so we were easy to miss. Yeah, it was over before 10:30.
The roadster was picked as a Street Rodder top 10 and I had to park it at the winners circle all day. After I parked it there I ran down to train station to hook-up with everyone but missed it all. That little Chevy stopped me in my tracks. What a beauty...TBJ
well I guess I'm the red headed step child,no mention of your good ole buddy, just kiddin, the car looks on point Tony.Hey is John on here too? Saw a lot of nice cars, looked for fellow HAMBers but none of you guys were around your cars by the grand stands when I passed through.I did enjoy watchin the fat guy get his pants blown off of him during the burnout contest when that radiator hose let loose, you can't make shit up like that, although its a wonder he didn't get run over.
Opps....sorry about that Chad.. I was talkin 'bout the meet and greet.. Sure it was good to see you..Strange thing is, we live about 5 minutes from each other but we meet up 110 miles away from here. lol TBJ, i didn't realize another HAMBer made the top 10 pick..actually, i didn't even realize you owned Time Bomb..guess i should have paid more attention to your screen name ..VERY NICE CAR!!!!..anyway, my 53 did as well.. Way cool, and congrats!! we're takin' over!! hahaha Tony
mmmmmmmmmm HAM!!! And chicken too! Thanks for the typical great pix Al! See you in L'Ville! If there was no banner, one HAMB shirt and only one or two HAMB cars, it's safe to assume there were no cookies. What a bummer... Vance
Man, I must be hungry. I'm looking at this post and I see that Pig on the rack, a chicken and some guy named 'Sour Kraut' responding... I gotta get some groceries down my throat! Vance
It was nice to meet some fellow hambers, old age sucks can't remember all names. The Terraplane made it home, well sort of, back at hotel Sat. night, blow off bottom rad. hose from water pump no big deal but most of tore hose. Sun. went to Denny's to eat before heading home when it looked like the water pump was leaking, loosened cap stoped leaking lets head home. About 85 miles out the speedometer quits, shortly after the rear shock mount brakes off, pulled into rest stop to fix, starter won't turn over, get jumper box out dead, loaned jumper cables from 18 wheeler, on the road again, wire holding gas shock up brakes, stop again, backed up on curb and push shock up with jack, rewire. well now its home with a new hose, it starts and new shock pads being made..Meet some great people and look at all the fun I would have missed if I would have trailered it.
