Wow, been a long damn time since we last posted, here's what's new- quit our job to go back to school for an auto tech degree and ASE certification, planning a move to the PNW when we finish that, sold my green coupe, traded our '25 T, sold some other vehicles and bikes and built this '29 Model A roadster- A-Bucket as we like to call it.
Formerly a '29 Sedan combined with the running gear of a '75 Mark IV, it was quite a project but hopefully you like the results.

Homemade bed, windshield frame, light mounts, dash, modified frame (think the X-Member will hold?), nothing special really.

Video to come, when we get better at transferring that power to the ground!

Will be driving it to Seattle August 19-25, so if any HAMBers are on the way, give us a shout.

    Enjoy:

Nice ride! Way to "Git er done". I also think this lends some supporting evidence to whether the 460 is a good hot rod engine. Tires anyone?

I was thinking to myself "that may be the stoutest K-member I have seen"

Then I scrolled down saw the burnout and now I know why....

The frame, and body mounts tell alot about the attention to detail. Thanks for the pics, it looks great.

thanks- yeah, they're off a '75 but we think they have a timeless look to them.

We certainly haven't detected any frame twist so we're glad we went overkill!

Thanks for all the kind words
    look for some vids soon

  9. what did you do to the drivetrain? Did you use the driveshafe and shorten it, what about the rearend?

    Heheheh...thats one ugly engine alright.
(But I'd be afraid to say it to its face...;) :D)
    Fine job guys.

(Joking about the ugly part BTW...I like those engines!)

Once you finish the the body work and get it painted to go with that magnificent ch***is you'll have one heck of a nice ride! Great work, nice to have time to work out the bugs before doing the finish work.
Can't wait to see the finished truck.

driveshaft was shortned about 4 feet- the thing was LONG stock, and since it was rubber dampened they had to weld a anew yoke on one end to get rid of the rubber and sleeve portion. Right now the shaft center to center of yokes is 14". Rearend is not narrowed (I made the bed as wide as a I could to make it look better).

The body work is going to be tough, but we've started it. We had to make lemonade out of the lemon we were sold ("body rough" my ***!, never buy a car sight unseen!)

Thanks for the tumbs up :D

hahaha, love the this + this presentation.......funny stuff!

kind of ironic....there's been a lot of talk about 460's 'round here lately........buddy of mine just bought a truck with a 460, another buddy was talking about 460's and grandpa was talking about the 460 in an old lincoln he has....

    haha, it's 460 week!

Cool. Did you do anything to the engine at all, except paint it corporate blue?

I think the 460 was chocked to a horrid 210 hp in stock form in 1974.

not much- It's got a Carter AFB, HEI, Edelbrock cam and a Weiand water pump, plus the headers (F-150 headers cut at flange and flipped over, swapped side to side), 2.5" exhaust. We somehow lost ;) the EGR and air pump, and A/C, power steering, wahtever else was hanging on there.

Stock smog intake, stock smog heads, low comp, but as you can see it motivates the car quite nicely. Next plans are aluminum intake and heads, mainly for weight savings, since it is already scary fast.

    thanks all
