I can definitely say that Puyallup (Pacific Northwest Nationals) is one of my favorite events on the schedule. The people couldn't be nicer, the cars lean heavily to the traditional side and the scenery is amazing. You can see Mount Rainier from pretty much anywhere in the area.

Here's some of what I saw. Lots more in the Gazette!

This guy built this himself. The quality was pretty amazing. The model A engine has a Mercedes crank.

This shoebox was right on the money. He got my "Under Construction" pick.

Yes it's a Volksrod, and yes I rode in it. The owner, Russ, has reason to believe it was #3 from Kent Fuller.

Yep, that's Gary Meadors in the background writing this kid up for an award on Sunday. Gary picks one "Goodguy's Pick" at each event. This was it in Puyallup.

Yeah, the Northwest rules. And the best part is, we get to do it again this weekend at Hotrod-A-Rama without all the muscle car and streetrod ********.

Fantastic pictures! You've sold me on wanting to a long distance run to Puyallup!

I used to see that Nailhead powered orange 'A at NSRA Springfield but hadn't seen him the last couple of times I went. Glad to know it still makes the rounds.

****, wish I'd gone now. I haven't been in 10+ years, and the crowd then was not very friendly to unpainted sub $60,000 types.

The blue flathead powered T bucket is Keith Williams car. That's the first time I've seen it out in about 20 years. I've followed that T through the sand on the beach and through pouring rainstorms back in the 70's, and it never quit. Still looks great.

Thanks for the pics. Some interesting cars there. That white 53 Chev hardtop is very nice. And the 60 Pontiac is sick.

Kirk, great pic's, looks like that is the show to be at. Love that black 40 coupe with the yellow wheels. ( Used to be mine ) Only thing he's change is he put the hood back on. Looks great without it also. It has a decked out yellow flattie in it. One of the few cars I regret selling and I'm back in the hunt for another 40 coupe. Gary

I really enjoyed the show, lots of top notch cars. I was in town for my wife's high school reunion, so my father in law and I hit the drags on friday night and drug the girls with us to the show on Saturday. I didn't get to go thorough as slow as I would've by myself, but I'm still glad I went.
