I am always amazed at the quality of the cars and trucks that show up from all over the NW and Canada. There's a lot of talented builders in the upper left corner of North America. I think there would be more of 'em in print if we were closer to the mags offices! Remember some of the stuff from up here that Pete Sukalac shot for Hot Rod, R/C and others back in the sepia toned days? KIRK! and the Gazette is one of the few ways lots of cars from this neck of the woods get seen.
Thanks for sharing the great pics Kirk, I look forward to them after every GG event! You gots skills..........:D

When I was at Ft. Lewis (1961-62) I thought the local cars were a lot more interesting than what I was used to from California. More home built and reflecting the owners ideas. Less shop sameness that ruled here even with home built cars. I thought, anyway.

KIRK as always great pics. I don't think you have ever posted an event coverage where I thought "ooo those were just ho-hum photos".

  24. Grilles, frames, gas tanks, you name it.

Only "A" that should have a duce grille shell, ,must be flathead powered.

Heck I had my "A" radiator made special for my flattie, so it fits in a "A" shell.

Hmmm, interesting opinion. Does that mean a '49 Merc with Packard taillights and a DeSoto grille is a wannabe Packard or a wannabe DeSoto? I guess my '29 DeSoto wants to be a 1919 Grant 6 or a '39 Ford or a '64 Chevy or a '55 Austin Healey or a '27 Ford or a '47 Ford or a Model A. It's obviously very confused and unhappy with who it is.

I think it's more a matter of combining the best looking parts. I personally like the look of Model A bodies better than '32s. '32 grilles and frames are better looking than '28-'31. Put them together and you have a *****in hot rod, not a wannabe '32.
