a friend of mine sent me a email today,
that a lot of wiring harness are burning up because these harbor freight fuse`s don`t pop they melt with the rest of your car and wiring harness. even at 50 amp`s !
I try not to buy anything from harbor freight any more,
but just wanted to p*** this along to the hamb.
if you have any of these at least see if they pop when you short them out?
flames are cool on the outside, but not so cool on the inside !:)

Anybody else starting to think ANYTHING from China should be avoided? Food, children's toys, anvils that splinter, fuses...

Do fuses need some sort of rating to be sold? (UL etc..) If not they should.

only if they're made and distributed in the US.

Made in China=unregulated merchandise
-lead paint on baby cribs
-toxins in our toothpaste

I don't understand this free trade BS
We are a huge consumer of China's goods (been to Wal-mart lately)
yet it is against China's law to buy/use/consume anything that is not made within China's borders. WTF

We owe our 8 trillion dollar national debt to the Chinese government, I believe. They're happy to borrow us money in exchange for "free" trade.

SURPRISE !

120 fuses,in 6 different colors, shipped half way around the world,
and they retail for less than the cost of the materials to make the box.

No Chinese products in your home ? How are you posting to the forum without a computer ?

That isn't at all true. China is a major importer of Western luxury goods. Unfortunately, you have to sell a hell of a lot of S Cl***es and Navigators to China scratch the surface of the import of every cheap, ****py, gewgaw to the US and Europe from China.

One of the few plus points, unless you believe cheap credit to be a net benefit  , of the whole <strike>clusterf*ck</strike> relationship is that GM's Asiatic business is keeping the rest of the company afloat.

That's true, I heard that Buick is the best selling car brand in China, I think they sell more Buicks there than here. Good for GM.

As for the fuses, probably not something to cheap out on. But if a wiring harness catches fire, there's gotta be a short in the system somewhere else, a fuse won't cause a fire.

I saw an article today that the pharmacuetical (sp) companies just got a big OK from the FDA to have the drugs made in China and imported to the US. Our government has completely gone to ****! They regulate the **** out of US companies and tax us to death yet when it comes to imports it's carte blanche with no checks and balances. No wonder the rest of the world thinks were a bunch of idiots. The only way to stop it is at the cash register. STOP BUYING THEIR ****!!!!

They couldn't sell it if we weren't buy it! We are our own worst enemy!!
You get what you pay for. You get who you vote for. It's so funny, when I was a kid the "made in Japan" was the sign of cheap junk. Now they can't make enough Toyotas. We are DOOMED! Hahahahahahahaha............

Electrical parts are generally something you want to spend a little extra on for better quality.

Not on its own, but if a fuse doesn't blow at its rated load it can turn the lights going out and a hunt for a short into a full blown disaster

I have a sneeky su****ion that the chinese send the really ****py stuff over here and keep the good stuff. I would hate to think that the chinese only have cheap chinese stuff to work with . But it may be the same with their tools, cars and motorcycles as it is with their work force. If one of them cant do the job, theres a long line waiting to replace them.

On the news last night they said that 60% of ALL recalls ( car parts included) are from Chinese manufacturing. It's costing the car companies a LOT.

though there are exceptions, generally, chines companies will provide for their customers what they want. if you ask for a decent quality part, you'll get it. if you ask for the absolute cheapest product they can make, they'll make that too. the problem is not so much that all chinese made goods are ****, it's that americans WANT the cheapest **** they can get.

That is so true. You can get the finest quality products out of China at very fair prices or you can get absolute **** if that is what you order.
Don't blame the Chinese.....blame the **** retailers who import and sell the **** products and the public who want to pay zilch for everything.

Ahh sorry to here it... BUT

All you guys need to look in the mirror.

Who is the government - you are.
Who bought the product from China - you did.
Who is to blame for the problems - you.

No one buys on quality anymore - its' the lowest price - period.
And what do you get for the lowest price - 99% of the time the lowest quality.

NOBODY forces you into a Walmart or Harbor Freight to buy stuff.
Walmarts success came from being the first to import stuff from China than everyone else. Harbor Freight sells cheap ****- and that's a secret ?
What a joke.

You want America made goods - than go onto the internet - find a company and buy it.

Better yet - get your buddies together - pool your money and start making them.

We - I SAID WE have no one to blame except ourselves PERIOD.

You buy the cheapest dollar stuff - you vote for the same corupt ******* year after year for 2 parties that could give a **** about you and yet - some of you don't vote or keep voting for the same **** over and over again.

It's like Washington is some magical place to have problems fixed.

Well try looking in the mirror before looking at everyone and everything else and ask yourself " Do I do something about it or do I keep doing all the same **** and keep whining about it"

BTW - thanks for the warning on the fuses, but I buy Bussman which some are made here and some not - but I have some recourse as you do too.

Then again - get a lawyer who is running for a Washington office and he'll really give a **** about you until he gets voted in.

If you buy from a American company at least if something goes wrong you will have a lawyer that will sue for you and if you win you'll get 30% of something and he'll get 70% - fair damn deal isn't it ?

On a lighter note - and a plug for my stomping ground - why are you guys ****ing around with Walmart and Harbor Freight when you have 30,000 fellow HAMB buddies to buy from ?
At least if something goes wrong here - we catch you, wrap duct tape around you and rip it off including private body hairs - ladies included. So sell and buy at your hearts content and if you mess up, conciquences are not far behind.

Cob
