I wanted to grow up, and be just like Denise. Her photos and narrative are always so great, and I'd hoped to be able to keep you guys up to date with the happenings in Louisville this week, just like she always does at the many shows she attends. But noooooooo! It's been non-stop good times, and the weather has been gorgeous, though a little hot. Attendance appears to be up, regardless of what the rumors were predicting. Wrong-Way Wednesday's sign-in was a party scene, and everyone seemed anxious for the Expo Center to open the next day. Thirsty Thursday was hot and humid, and started out a little slow. Things picked up on Fuelish Friday, as attendance really skyrocketed. The place filled up early, and clear skies and lower humidity made for a pleasant day. The swap meet seemed larger than ever on both days, but as usual it was the hottest spot on the grounds. The huge buildings that house the manufacturers displays were a welcome refuge from the heat, and provided a refreshing respite when it got a bit to warm outside. The A/C was crankin'. The cars are better than ever, and the H.A.M.B's own Kirby Kennedy and his fresh Model A build is possibly our best representative at L'Ville. His light grey coupe is perfect, and I expect him to blow the judges away at Saturday's 29 Below compe***ion. Go get'em Kirby. The car has had people crowding around it since early Thursday morning, and it's prime spot, right in front of Freedom Hall, insured it's visibility. I've been looking for 3WLarry each day, wanting to meet him and introduce my wife and myself. We saw the coupe one day on the road, but haven't seen it since. I can't wait to get a closeup. I expected to post pictures each day, but reality got in the way. I don't know what I was thinking. It's all we can do to make it through the day, find some food and beverage, and get whatever sleep we can fit in. Come to think of it, I better hit the sack. I'm not used to getting up early, and the days have been flying by. I promise to post pics as soon as thing slow down a little and I find some time. Wish you were all here enjoying this show.....................Woody
I should be sending in a report in the next couple of days. HOPEfully, some good pics too. Don't forget any of you guys in Louisville stop in and see us at the Monkey Wrench tonight, 1025 Barret ave. They have a full bar and menu, music, Road Rocket Rumble 2007 footage, good art, good people. More info at http://www.beatersville.com Including flier and directions, it is only about 10 minutes from the fair grounds. Scott
I made it down for a little while... didn't they announce it was a crack over 11,400 registrations this year? Dang! I felt like **** when I got up this morning, and I feel like **** now... but I'm glad I went. The variety and creativity just seems to be exploding lately. BTW, anyone else notice there seems to be more Plymouths than you can shake a stick at this year? Used to hardly ever see them - today I was surrounded by 'em.... and quite a few were RB powered, too.
Our very own 3WLarry, in his DRIVEN coupe was selected as one of the winners in PROS PICKS!!! His car looked great in the picks area with former Riddler winner caliber cars. Way to go Larry!!!!

Larry3W.. What gives with the Big $$$$ For Sale[/QUOTE] Tried to meet Larry a couple of times while we were sitting in the Pros-Pick area but couldn't get the job done. Too Damn Hot!!!! It seemed like when I wasn't busy talking he was and when I was busy talking he wasn't. My last ditch effort was at the end of the Pros-Pick session he was working with the photographer from down under who shot my car on Thursday. While I was waiting for him to get done, I got tied up again with a video interview. I saw the for sale sign too.... someone must be messing with him by sliding that (1) in front of the asking price....(lol) Congradulations Larry, while I was hoping for Hambers to get two of the 12 picks, it was good to see a Hamber grab at least 1 of 'em.
I brought six rolls of B&W film with me with every intention of taking some great pix but it was WAAAAAYYYY too hot and humid to walk around and carry that big *** 35MM. When I left the car I brought three lenses with me and by the time I got to my brother's car and EZ-Up, I'd already wussed out. Sorry guys. You'll just have to wait on NitroFC. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be worth it. I carry a pedometer, you know, one of those things that tell you how far you've walked. Well, at the last two or three Nat's, I've covered an average of 8-9 miles in my one day on foot. This year I barely covered 2 miles and most of that was the inside vendor's stuff. I did have a lot of vendor related things to do and look for so at least I had a real excuse to be inside. And I'm happy to report that I accomplished everything I set out to do inside! Thus putting me that much closer to Hunnert. And I will be taking the B&W film to that and I'm pretty sure there will be hot weather to whine about! Vance
And I just did the inside exhibits It's kinda sad when a car that's just georgeous is hardly noticed Too many cars, too little time and way too little money
