Up here in Valparaiso, In, the Target has banned the Friday cruise night from the lot. No fights, no problems, and very rarely an idiot smoking tires. I guess they tried to get the 35-40 other businesses to sign a petition against us and no one signed. If you pull up in an old car to shop, they chase you out. We have had 3 other places since last week begging us to come on Fridays; the local Culvers offered free ice cream if you bring an old car of any type. Just an idea of the assholes here, the kicked the Salvation Army bell ringers out at Christmas. We have ban Target signs on are cars and that place is now a ghost town on Friday. I recommend all car folks let Target know how they feel. That is all.

You need to have one more get together there. Everyone needs to go in and buy something small or something they may need. If they bitch all need to stand in the return line. get the managers name. Local Bennigans manger got fired here a couple of years back.

you cant control the target people if they think something is gonna be a problem i dont think you can change thier mind with out your pocket book
if it is that good of a location hit up the local rep or the regional rep,, make them give you the reasons,, and see if it results like the previous poster says

same thing happened around here ,couple places got squirrely and couple others begged us to have the cruise nights, now evry night is cruising to a difernet place each night and the others? they sit empty, couple of customers,,, it is all in perception,
granted some of us went and met with the owners of the other places and said, here we are,,, whats the problem? no answers no cruisers,,,sad for them,

All of the Sonics here in Central Arkansas have banned us from cruising there. They say that they loose money when ever we are there. Kinda funny though because not only are there cars parked and eating in spots that you normally never see a car in, but people stop to see the cars and usually end up eating there too........

We've been there for 3 years, Target was DEAD this Friday. They have a new 22 year old Rent a Cop who saw it as a security problem. He thinks heres running security for the Pentagon or some shit.

well if you been there and realy want to see the ban lifted ,i would go to information area and ask for the manager again or the regional person, you would like to know why or what happened,? did this new security inform them that thsi is how it should be? and if in the end all you can say is well look for alot less customers then, vote with your feet

I don't get any of that shit, around here they all see cruise ins and car shows as instant money.Even today there was a hellofa show in a little town called Richfield Springs and the town board lets it happen in the center of town in the village park.No problems just car folk gettin together and showin their stuff. I just don't get people seeing it as a problem

the salvation army is a charity issue with the target people, seems they think it forces people to donate, instead of donating to their charity of choice or none at all if you give or not , and they wont allow other charitys either,,,

I read this and somehow it just sounded impossible, like one of those inbox fabrications that whip around the globe before anyone ever checks its accuracy.

Snopes.com confirms the truth of the statement! Target WON'T let the Salvation Army set up on their sites! The S.A. has to be the good guys of all charitable organizations. Target ought to rethink their corporate decision to bar them. Unless they do change their policy,Target doesn't need my money either.

the restaurant thing is much easier to get postive reaction or banned,,if everyone shows up and buys water, they aint gonna make any money, been posted before about how to get a cruise place going ,, do a search ,get in there and buy something, work with the owners on a coupon book either priced down or free by showing up you get a special, show them it gets foot traffic in the door, if they area regional or national chain they have merchandise to sell or offer to a door prize setup, the first red car, or the first convert, or ,,,i could go on, if you want to sit at your buddies and then cruise over to your place ,that is what is going to continue to happen,,dont get alll pissed off , get some answers nicely, and go from there

  13. Geez.

    It is not pronounced "Tar-zhay."

It is not controlled by the French, Halliburton, the Illuminati, the Freemasons, the Bildebergers, the What-a-Burgers, or little green men from China.

Target was an offshoot of the Dayton department store chain founded in Minneapolis in 1962. It was a subsidiary of Dayton-Hudson until it was spun off in 2000. It's traded publicly on the NYSE as TGT. Its headquarters, in downtown Minneapolis, do not broadcast French mind control beams.

Just doing my bit to counteract the spread of internet stupidity.

Cruise ins or not, it is still private property. Like the sign said we reserve the right to serve anyone. Just find a new place to cruise and hang. It seems that they don't want or need your money. I know it sucks but they fired the first shot. Encourage your friends and family not to shop there.

I have been going there for the last two years, I usally go every other weekend.......I was there last three weeks ago, and I saw a bunch of tuner jags get into a huge fight (go figure) .....after that was broken up the place cleared out and there was a shit load of garbage left everywhere......Not sticking up for target, but it seems the few jag offs that did all this were the cause of everyone gettin booted

  23. Sonics here in Jonesboro donate prize money for the 2 cruises a month we have here.

And Chick-Filet hosts a monthly evening cruize in with a DJ, prizes, free drinks, and a $100 gift certificate to the participant's choice.

Ya need to move 1LowLeSabre. Or at least come up for the Cruizer's Show in October.

The five Sonics here in Conway welcome cruisers, local car club regularly hangs out there, and it was the Sonic owners who came up with the idea for the first Fifties Bash in Conway in 2001.

1low, you need to head a few miles north once in awhile!!! We'd be glad to have you.

If theres no actual parking lot issues, blame ignorant anti-old car people for chasing you out that complain to store employees.
Years ago when cruise nights where just getting off the ground here I was at one, and was in a store that shared the same parking lot picking up a couple things, everythings all cheery in line for a change, everybody making small talk when the she-cow infront of me had to make a comment to the cashier about "all those old junkers out there filling up the parking lot making it tough to get into the store, they shouldn't even be here" I pointed out theres lots of spaces open near the buildings for customers, and then I pointed to my car and asked her if that car shouldn't be in the parking lot either? Thats right, it shouldn't be. I told her *my* car had as much buisness being in the parking lot as every other car out there including hers, she mumbled something and took off. So you never know where the car ban comes from, but you know the stores are going to bend an ear to the squeeky wheels.
