I'm arguing with myself about which would look better on the side of a shoebox car.... 1. 1953 Buick "sweep" trim 2. 1955/56 Pontiac trim. I've seen lots of Mercs done with 53 Buick trim....not so much on the shoeboxes. Does anyone have pictures of either? I've looked and can't find any. I also know my searching skills suck. I have a Business coupe with a 5 inch chop. I want to make it two toned which is why I am leaning towards 53 Buick.
The 55 poncho trim looks great, and is not terribly uncommon. I have never seen the buick trim on 49-51, I think that would look really great.
Here are some examples from Rikster's site of the '53 Buick trim used on shoeboxes. Another possibility is the '54-'56 Buick side trim, which was occasionally used on shoeboxes back when with good results.
definitly the 55' pontiac starchief trim on a shoebox. maybe oneday Iwill find a set when I have some cashola!!
