dudes!, these ****ing tweakers never stop. went out to my storage property today and when i roll up my gate is open and i see a mid 80' suburban sitting there that shouldn't be then i see 2 dudes and after i step out of my van with my jack handle and notice my chain on the gate was cut by a 3' pair of bolt cutters sitting on the ground i ask very rudely WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON HERE! so AFTER I MAKE THEM GET FACE DOWN ON THE GROUND i notice a box van with a local plumbing company's name on the side sitting back in the trees i decide to call the cops. turns out there was 3 $30,000 loaded cube van ripped of the night before. when the cops showed up turns out 2 of the vans were at my place being emptied by these **** bags. the one day i didn't have my shotgun with me so i took their id,keys to their rig and sent them packing(i had no way to hold them) called the plumbing company and they came out and picked up their trucks. sure felt good when the dude that owned the plumbing company shook my hand and said THANKS!

  3. If there is one thing on this planet that i hate more than hondas, it's gotta be a damn theif, granted if u steal a loaf of bread for your starving family, that could be forgiven, but stealing anything other than that is just stupidity

Why'd you have to let them go before the cops got there? Was it one of those deals where the dispatcher says "all the officers are busy"?

Someone here or on another site said they ran into that once when someone was stealing out of their shed late at night. The dispatcher said to stay inside and hide. The guy said he called the cops back about 30 seconds later and said he just shot one of the intruders dead, and within minutes several cop cars were there. When one of the cops said "I thought you said you shot them!" The guy replied "I thought all of you were busy."

Great story...don't know if it's true or not, but if anyone reading this thread has a similar situation in the future, this might come in handy.

Even better if you DO shoot them.

My shops on main st. in ventura,
and many tools and parts have been stolen,
    in small quan***ies at least.

One night I got to pipe a tweaker that broke into my shop.
It was with a 1.5" pvc pipe.
The guy pulled out a 7" cold steel vaquero folding knife,
I figured in California it was legal to defend oneself on own (rented) property.
    Nope,
they took us both in, and let him go while tagging me with ***ault!
(didn't find the knife as it was after midnight)

I ended up finding the knife so it was reduced to disturbing the peace.

-its hard to know what to do in that situation. Jungle Justice sometimes
    backfires.

its true...cops show up alot faster if you have a gun and are ready to use it...(I let the dispatcher know)..or if you think they are in the house...otherwise they are busy with the others that said they have a gun

    That's insane.

I think there should be a common-sense law; if you are killed or injured during the commission of a felony, you and your heirs forfiet the right to sue.

  11. That is messed up. Move to Texas. Owner checking his property the other day spotted a teenager who had broken in and shot him with a shotgun. It wasn't a direct hit and the teen ran and later flagged down a cop car for a ride to the hospital. Teen will be/has been charged and the owner gets nothing.

Thanks for the info. I thought it just meant they were thieves. Now I know and I'll shoot first. Better aim for the torso because they ain't got a brain in their heads.

It would been a damn shame had they accidentally hit there heads on that axe handle. I had a guy in my back yard and he ran into my fist. I hate a thief.

    ****in tweekers

What's even worse is when one is practically family and ya gotta make the choice between being there to try and point em straight, or chase em off to ensure your tools & toys are still there tomorrow. ****in tweekers.

I work in retail and new rules, if you attempt to stop a theif you loose your job. They know this and they run out the front door laughing with tool sets and T V "s. Our overweight store cop is the only one allowed to stop someone, and last week he was chasing a tweaker around the parking lot , losing his chase.Stupid!!!

Alaska just recently p***ed a law that states if you were justified in whatever force level you use (including lethal) the other party or their 'estate' can't sue you. It also states if you are 'home' (not necessarily inside but on the premises, this is sometimes called 'Castle Doctrine') you have no 'duty to retreat' (most states believe that when you are armed in public you should do everything you can to avoid the conflict without jeopardizing yourself or others, aka duty to retreat, maybe not in Texas?). Before that if they lived you could be sued, or if not just about anyone could claim relation and sue as a 'dependant'.

And yes, they call it the "CRIMINAL justice" system in California for a reason.

Tweeker = Meth addict. Lots of the stuff down in San Diego, mostly in the east county but still enough to keep people worried. Steal everything that is not tied down where I used to live.

Tweeker stop when you hit/shoot them, its the guys on PCP that you have to worry about. 5-6 shots with a police issue handgun and they still are running at you, scary stuff.

Georgia p***ed a similar law last year. Conservatives called it the "stand your ground law," liberals and the media called it the "Make my day law," insinuating everyone was going to start playing Dirty Harry with the poor, misunderstood, misdirected, poorly potty-trained, not-their-fault, walk-a-mile-in-their-shoes bad guys.

As a man, I have one job--protect the woman and child. Everything falls into two categories: "Protect family" and "Everything Else." Providing food, shelter, safety falls in Category A, pretty much everything else falls in "B". If someone is on my property stealing stuff, I must ***ume that, at any given time, it could go bad and my family could be in danger. That's just the way it is--I don't know if he's got a gun, a knife, a tire iron or bad gas, and I can't wait for him to indicated which it is. My family may be inside the house and he's in the yard or the shop, but bullets will go through walls and windows. I won't take that chance. That'd be my stance with or without the Stand Your Ground law...but it's really nice to know the law is on my side in that instance. (Gee, what a concept--the law being on the side of the law-abiding citizen!)
