Depends on the year(era) that you are depicting. 1965 - FX , Late 60's - gasser. GREAT CAR either way!! Looks like you did a real nice job on it. - Bernie

    Tingler,
Always liked the '63 Fairlanes. Those fins are a direct descendant of the '57 Fords. I have a '65 Cyclone and I'm toying with the idea of a straight axle. Everyone seems to have gasser fever now! What are you using? Econoline? Also are you using the stock steering box? Brief description of how it's set up.

This is a pic of my 37 Chevy Wild 1, now and then. The then pic is circa 1970 - 1972 taken at Lions?

This car ran B/GS with a blown olds in 63, 64. At that time it was painted S & S orange with olympic symbols on the side. It was re-painted to it's current scheme sometime after that.

This car has a lot of California racing history and I have bits and pieces of it, but there's a lot missing.

If anyone has any info or pics or history of this car please PM me.

    Thanks, Fred

Man, your car got my blood pumpin. I don't normally watch these "car" shows, too much drama and not enough real car stuff but had to stop and watch Hard Shine when I caught your car while channel surfin. Made me go talk to my brother about the 57 210 hardtop thats been sitting neglected in the courner of his garage for years, still has the muncie and Olds rearend he put in in when we were kids. He told me I could buy it, I've been thinking about it. Then tonight I ran into a guy at a cruise night and found out he has my old 37 Chevy coupe I raced back in the 70's and it's for sale! The strait axle's gone, replaced with a Must II and it's tubbed now so lots of work to put it back but it still has my candy blue paint and lettering plus the old AI fiberglass tilt front end. Damn, I got gasser fever but now don't know which one!

There are alot of way cool cars on this post, you fellows have some nice iron.
The story goes like this, a good friend of mine calls and says he found a mopar sitting in a back yard and thinks I might be interested, says he does not what kind , just that its and old mopar. I follow his directions on two different attemps, no luck. Six months go by and he asks if I found it, no, so he picks me up and when we pulled up on it I got that feeling, you know the one, when you make the find. Knock on the door, no answer, three more tries , no contact. Talking to one of my best friends ( who is a big mopar nut) about the find, and wouldn't you know it he knows the guy and gets me in touch with him. James is one of those rare breed types, one hell of a fellow. He was from down south and had this layed back coolness about him. He informed me that guys stop every now and again to try and buy the car. but he builds 65 hemi Plymouths and that car came in a deal with one of the Plymouths, and he it was on his project list. So no it was not for sale. We got to talking and six hours later I finally left, the experiences and stories that james shared with me were incredable, before I left he asked if I would care to see his shop behind the house, of course. the shop was not that big or impressive as far aas shops go, but one that will I will never forget, hemis and hemi parts everwhere, KBs, factory, cross rams, Hilbron injection, bloweres, heads, blocks, I could not take it all in. it was awesome.

I became good friends with James and his wife Mo, and it was cool to stop and hang out for awhile but you had better have some time on your hands cause it was hard to leave. He was also into mid sixtes vettes too, now mind you he was not a rich guy either. His health took a turn for the worse, and he was trying to finsish up a 71 hemi cuda clone that he and a partner were building to finace his what he said would be his last 65 Plymouth, he called me and said that he had decided too sell that Dodge to me, of course at the time i found my self short on funds and told him that as bad as I wanted it that he should sell it to some one else because I could not make a resonable offer, he said come up and will talk about it, not to keep going on like I have been here, he told me that I was going to buy that car, and I told him that I could not, he told me the price and I bought it.That was 18 months ago, James passed away this spring, he is missed by everyone that knew him, I feel rather lucky, not because I ended up with the car, no I feel lucky because I stopped to check out a lead on a car like we all do and made a friend with a stand up guy in this Hot rodding passion of ours.
Ok I went on way to long there, here is the skinny on the car itself.
    1) 65 Dodge Coronet 500 originally 383 four speed, was run with the straight axle and a hemi at one point but the history of the car is very vauge. Supposably always been around here (southern Wi, norhtern Ill). I just got the roller and the four speed. The axle looks to be home brewed.
Now if I can make the pictures attach.
