Sunday on my way home from Lville in my non HAMB friendly car, I lost traction on a wet curve, and stuffed it into the ditch. Prostreet car. At 25 mph. It's fixable, but it wasn't my favorite day.

This, my friends, is a perfect example of the most dangerous part of owning a "pro-street" style car or pickup. Though he didn't mention whether his rear tires were some variation of slicks or not, even with treaded tires the danger exists with that much rubber floating in a couple millimeters of water.

Thank God you weren't hurt! A little bent steel is repairable or replaceable but painless.

I've been driving this car for 18 years, I have even driven it in the snow. My point is, letting you guard down for even a second can bite you. This was in the last 20 miles of a 300 mile trip in the rain. It has Protrac 275 60 tires, 16" wide.

    Sorry to hear it ...:(

Saw your car at the Motel ... Sunday morning as I was leaving Louisville.

That fellow at the gas station told you ...
" You cannot pull a trailer with a car with those big tires "

... I guess he was more correct than either of us figured ...

    It is a Marlin....cool!

Sorry it got banged up, but ditching it is far better than crossing the yellow line into head-on traffic.

    Good luck with the fix.

Glad to hear it was slow and you're ok. It stinks tearing stuff up but you built it once, you can do it again.

  12. I think its trying to say it wants another color all together.

    Is it fixed yet?
After all, that was three days ago...
With your skills it should be in prime, ready to paint at least! ;)

**** happens, and you walked away from the landing, ok I guess?
Hope you can still match the paint.
I've only seen pictures but I really like that car!

It's pink, because it wanted pink. I just asked again, and it said yes again.

You sure it said pink? Maybe it had a mouth full of ditch gr*** and meant to say 'black ink' but it came out as 'mlmmmlbnpink'

Still, sweet car. The AMC guys get together down the road from my house every summer. Blissfield has a family named 'Jones' that all roll in some form or another of AMC. One had a gorgeous light blue Marlin when I was a kid. Only seen a few but like them all. The only pink one in the bunch is Rick Jones' 58 Rambler named Ramblin Rose. Sweet little ride.

Hot Rod and Hobbies was working on a Marlin. Kinda pro-touring/pro-street. It had a Dodge Charger grill and a 500" Cadillac.
    Very cool.

hell I'm notta pro-street meat eater by any means, 10.5" in back (onna p/u) and that thing always tries to get sideways on me when its wet....too much power, no weight in back, you have to be really careful getting into the gas, tracks straight and true when both are spinnin in a straight line...add a curve into the mix....its hairy

Sorry to hear about the car Frank. I know you will be able to get it squared away. Maybe flat black with red wheels will change your luck:rolleyes: :D. I only mention it 'cause I've never gone off the road in my pile. When they're ugly they tend to behave to minimize the constant ridicule.:)
