http://www.franklinmint.com/product1.aspx?SID=2&Product_ID=8928 and.... I hope this guy got paid for their model of his car-bad ass ride btw!
I take it he's seen the car before. I love HIS car. I took 10 shots of it (in a field of 7k cars, that's a lot of shots, folks)
Company's do that all the time...and if they change a certain "design" by only 10%, it's all legal... R-
Wow, they didn't even fawk it up with a pro stock hoodscoop from 1993. That dude should start posting the ripoff on every internet forum, and start writing letters to the editor for every car mag in existence. Avoiding further bad publicity might encourage the mint to do something nice for him.
Other thant the door art and the E&J's, it's just another "rat rod" diecast. Put some Guides on it and sand off the door and I doubt anyone would say it's a rip off. It's chopped, it's brown, and it has a flathead in it. And it's also way out of proportion. I wish people could look at something like this and say "hey, thats cool, they liked my car" instead of "hey, those assholes ripped me off."
I bet if you turn the model over, it says licensed by Ford Motor Company. I would think that should do it.
i would not use a rat rod to show off my rod shop , anybody can put rust on the road, just buy a old car and put a battery in it
"This red-hot "Rat" Rod was built to burn rubber and set the custom world on fire." Awesome Corporate description!
Based on this thread so far, I don't think Bruce has said anything. It's others on here who are calling for lawsuits and uproar. If someone made a model of my car I'd laugh at em for making somehting so ugly into a mass produced model.
Thats what I guess I meant to say. .............. "I wish people could look at something like this and say "hey, thats cool, they liked that car" instead of "hey, those assholes ripped that guy off."
Ya, if he gets some cash form the gig, cool. If not, buy a few to remember how cool the Franklin Mint thought your car was.
