New update 4/1/12!!!! Fellow Hamber Bdamfino... found this pic of the "What the heck is this" car!!! How freakin' cool is that.. it only took 5 years to figure it out but the hamb came through!!!! UPDATE! Went back by there to find out and the people that had it moved and took it with them! SORRY FELLAS!!! this was the longest stump ever! Came across this today while out doing a little surveying with my pop... don't know what it is but it looks cool. Wouldn't mind having it but I don't know what I'd do with it? Anyone have an idea what it is?
It is very different. I have no clue what it is. Could be a early version of a George Forman Grille. Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Kinda has that carnival vibe...Neat though, definately looks one off. Hey..that dog laying in the shade..is he OK? Hope so. -Abone.
A very cool start to a one of a kind truck possibly? That front emblem looks like part of a Mercedes emblem. I'll be back shortly, looking for something on Google.
im thinking some kind of airport utility vehicle maybe? possible cargo/passenger shuttle or tug vehicle? it loks as though the front wheels could be driven and it has rear wheel steer.
Pop thinks it was some sort of ice cream rig... who knows cool though! The dog was fine, he was asleep till I clicked the last photo and then he snapped to the end of the chain when I was hightailing it to the truck!!
weird... some sort o' early weiner-mobile...or hovercraft. or weiner-craft. it smacks of food promotion, to me. one thing for sure... It is nessecary.
I don't know but there is some decent steel there, maybe flip the front around and get a cowl and build sort of a roadster or modified, people would scratch their heads for days tryin to figure it out.
push me -pull you dr dolittle mobile its not a car itsa trike with pants with its belly cut out...which must been wood or canvas...
The fenders look like 41 Chevys as does the cut-down steering wheel. My guess is a Shriner's parade car from the late 40s-early 50s. The whole thing is built of pieces of variou cars/trucks/equipment etc. The tail end has the Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon early "spaceship" style to it. The body itself looks like a bumper car or carnival ride cab turned backwards for that speedy look. It would be interesting to do something with it.
Here's a ;ink you might want to check out..These cars were popular for fun back in the day and still some companies make them... http://www.3wheelers.com/vintage.html
it's not in the Wierd Cars book. Did you get a chance to look at the chassis at all and see what it might have started life as?
ya know it looks like some one was smokin' some bad shit and decided to build something and never finished
It had a lot of angle-iron in the rear, and the rear wheel had a drum setup, very different. If I get a chance to go by there again I'm going to get some more photos.
