51 Merc 2 door. Complete bare metal resto 14 years ago, NO bondo used, all metal, 9k miles since. Lowered, Merc stroker flathead with a mild cam, Offy heads, Dual Stromberg carbs, Fenton Headers with gl*** packs (sounds AMAZING), 3 speed with overdrive. All receipts ( huge book of them), all pictures of resto, all records of every oil/water/wiper blade/whatever change in the last 14 years. Everything works, all restored to original or better. Loads of extra parts and all the stock parts. I didnt steal it, but I didnt pay too much. It will be worth lots more as time goes on. Completely unmolested example of a 51 2 door Mercury. I cant believe it. more pics to come.
oh hell yes. It needs a little pinstriping here and there, will get some lines laid down at Billetproof. Offy heads, 9:1 compression, Dual Strombergs, mild cam, Fenton headers, Mallory ignition, Optima 6v battery in stock Merc case, new wiring harness (old style cloth covering), 4 row radiator. did I mention the metal was laser straight? A few little wows in the stainless, but nothing horrible.
stock interior, cept for the cb which will come out post haste. Everything works. I'll take out the painted window surrounds and replace with chromed versions very soon. Note the Indian Scout on the lift in the garage. NICE bike that the former Merc owner rides the heck out of and shows frequently. Its torn down right now and MAY be put back together for Billetproof.
Possible. More likely I will drive the hauler out to save on shipping all the Billetproof swag. Right now I've got a 57 Ford wagon custom, but I'm in the hunt for a panel truck. More room, more utility. I'll likely also drive the hauler to Hunnert Car Pile up. Anyone want to caravan?
Saweeeeeeet car, Chop. Please tell me you're bringin' it down for Pebble Beach this weekend.... (p.s. I'm sure you meant Fenton 'intake').
doh, fixed... Fenton Headers. Wont have it for this weekend. Need to square away some room in the garage before it REALLY comes home with me. That will be early next week.
that thing is sick like! Love it, jeez I don't care how much you paid it will be worht more so it's a great investment! Mack G. ( O.K. I'm jealous. . .)
actually, that was part of my attraction to it... full custom Mercs are *****in... but this one is unmolested, rarer if you ask me and worth more for it. Yeah, it looks a little toooo "stock" for my personal tastes, I'll do a few things here and there to solve that, but nothing involving a torch. It will be a period correct sleeper, with mild hot rod touches. The engine hop up is done, just need a few little things in the looks dept (fuzzy dice, crybaby dolls .... NOT).
