Please tell me, he isn't going to chop that up. Let someone have it that will respect it for what it is, one very nice original Chevrolet.
    Please.

That's a resto guy's car. I'd sell it and find one that needs some love.

Screw that. Since when did everyone get all upset when people decided to modify a car? That is what this board is about, right? Geez...

On that note, do everyone a solid a make a kick***, tail draggin' kustom out of it!:D

I would not touch the body.. leave the paint along, lower the hell out of it, update some hidden stuff and put some cool wheels on it and drive it, drive it, drive it...

No one is getting upset about anything. Just offering a different view.

To me, it's a simple matter of economics. Some restorer would pay good money for that car just the way it is. If your going to cut it all up, tack it back together, and reshoot it a completely different color doesn't it make more sense to start with a less pristine example if it's all going to look the same in the end?

Sell the nice one, have lots of extra money to build one right, and be ahead of the game. Is that such a dumb idea?

Let the photochops begin! I bet that'll change the 'leave it to a resto guy' at***ude. Dang, I'd LOVE to start with something half that clean rather than this midwest rusted out **** that populates SE Michigan. I'd drive it like it is for a day then lower the rear, add skirts, then update what needs it underneath with a full pressure oiler, open the rear end, wide whites, T5... One weekend at a time and make sure by Monday it was driving again. THEN I'd take it to someone who knew what they was doing and chop it.

Restoration be damned. Cut 'em up and cruise.

Exactly my point. If you're going to rebuild the thing into a rod, why start with a nice stock car? Tons of half-***ed, half finished cars out there cheap that could use some vision.

Wouldn't be hard to find one of those that's been neglected and NEEDS to be refurbished.

Foolish to "un-do" someone's hard work restoring or preserving that car in the fine condition that it is in.

Why not find a derelict that isn't proudly running the highways and save it from the crushers of America for people to enjoy right along side it's stock "cousins"?

I liked my other 41 sedan so much that I wanted to have another. So when I found this I bought it. I've never had a hard time cutting old cars up, but this one is different. Rather than do that I thought I'd sell it and do the 35 sedan. I didnt get much interest, and thats OK because it is such a nice car. I am seriously thinking like what most of you guys said (50 Fraud, Brown n down,) - putting my Thickstun 2 pot intake, headers, wide whites, torque tube overdrive then dump it on the ground, and run some miles off it.

Any other ideas out there for what to do with an 88,000 mile car???
