meee to! im nore exited about it then the drags!but my babies are both startin skrewl the day before we leave for the drags, so theres mixed emotions!

Called the Morris Motel about a month ago and reserved one of only two rooms left.I heard all the other places were booked solid.

 

As far as I know, all the hotels and motels in Morris are booked up and have been for months. You MIGHT get lucky and there will be cancellations due to weather, overbooking, etc, but you'll be taking your chances. We've been telling everyone to check Dwight, IL which is about 15 minutes away. YOur next closest bet is Joliet ($$$) or Ottawa (20-30 minutes away), but there may be others. Try Travelocity or Orbitz for hotels near Morris

 

Or there is always camping (sort of). I have a feeling I'll be doing that.

 

Thanks for reminding me. The Fairgrounds have, in the past, allowed limited camping in the gr*** parking lot out front. By "limited" I mean there can be no fires and there will be no showers or anything like that, but we'll try to have a port-a-potty out front for everyone's use at night and the morning while waiting in line.

And speaking of waiting in line in the morning, I'm working on having coffee and donuts for sale outside the gates in the morning again for all you early risers.

 

I forgot to mention that G***er57 will be there carving tikis... with a chainsaw!

 

Just got off the phone with Super 8 motel in Ottawa, just east of Morris. (815) 434-2888, got rooms $71.50 per night. I've stayed there the last 4 years. Nice place, easy to get to Morris.
