Pegasus were built in Spain in the old Hispano-Suiza factory during the mid 50s. Very few cars were built and they bring big big big money.

my friend bought the Gordon Diamond at a Harrras auction in the 80's. It was a flathead powered one off car built by a guy in sanfrancisco in the late 40's it had two wheels in middle and one on each end, hence the diamond name. parallel parking was a super easy!

  8. Lets see... rarest car that I´ve owned, or to be more honest: The poor remains of a car, was a 1912 Berliet. I got it for free at a farm, not much left of it as it had been burned, and rusted into to pieces ages before I found it. I had to dig it up in muddy soil... I sold the parts 25 years ago.
But one of the most outstanding cars ever was offered to my dad in the early 1950´s: A 1938 Mecedes 500K Spezial Roadster with a body made by the coachbuilder Erdmann-Rossini. A piece of art. The car was built for Hermann Göring who strong connections to Sweden and spent a lot of time between the wars here. For some reason, maybe due to its first owner (no one wanted a car with nazi heritage then) it was in a Swedish junkyard. Sorry to say, my dad didnt buy it (the pricetag was about one hundred dollars!)Though belive that the car was finally saved from being turned into scrap metal...

  11. I always thought that the '51 LeSabre was a huge car! In this picture it looks more like the size of a Corvette. How big is it really??

I did some drawings of a 31 cadilac v12 and a 31 marmon. I did the drawings next to the cars. The caddy had ostrich skin interior and about 40k in chrome.

Saw a Ghia 450SS parked in front of Lowes a couple of years. As I understand it was some sort of manufacturing proof of concept car that Ghia built in the late 60's. I think they were trying to sell the design to someone. It had a 273 V8 and a torqueflite transmission. I gather only 40 or so were built.

Here's a pic of the one I actually saw. Neat looking car, could've been a nice competitor for the T-Bird:

I have a 1926 Henney Hearse. I don't know the exact numbers, but it sold for $5,000 in 1926! There couldn't have been too many...

Lil John and I know a guy in Iowa who has a '35 or so Stude Presidential 4D sedan. This thing has a hood that's like 5 feet long. The guy who owns it says he's never seen another one like it and has gone thru Hell finding replacement parts.

I'll see if I can get Lil John to post a photo of it, it's pretty cool.

WOW! I have in the er..uh...reading room where I sometimes take an old mag with me to read. I just so happen to have the May 1965 copy of Hot Rod telling about his Arnie and that car. I was thinking to myself..."I wonder where Arnie or that car is now..."

There was one of those Triumphs on ebay last year and the owner claimed it was the only one left known to exist. Guess he was wrong. His was green I believe. Kinda reminded me of a Hudson Jet

I was shocked by how small it and the Y-Job were when I saw them displayed at the Henry Ford Museum when I was there.
    It's an optical illusion.
You look at the car s in pictures and assume they are proportional to 15" or even 16" wheels,
but the wheels on both of them are only 13"!
They are both about early Corvette size, if not a bit smaller.
Notice the Le Sabre has the same shape windshield as the first Corvettes?

A guy in my club has a 27 Star.... Looks like a model A but more wood like a chevy sedan... all origianl it was his grandfathers high school car. Its just cruising for a chop job. I know I will never be able to talk himinot to that. To much sentimental value I guess.... He said he would like to find another one and chop it though...

Arnie is alive and well in Morrison, Illinois and still racing. The car was sold this spring at the Mecum auction in Belvidere, IL. It sold for $262,000 but I'm not sure who bought it or what part of the country it went to.

  24. Ok so I saw the Moxie car in Dover NH this weekend here is the pic. It is a LaSalle chassis and body with an aluminium horse attached to the top, there are some other pics of it here with the rest of the show....

The rarest car I have owned I think is my corvette. 1 of 1287 in 1970, but if your asking what is the rarest one I have seen... well there's lots of 1 of 1 cars at pebble beach and concorso italiano so it is hard to say.

the whole purpose of this thread is to show hoodlums worldwide that there were many other manufacturers other than ford and chev and these manufacturers produced 5 .75 . 200 . or 20thousand cars .started usually by guys like us tinkering in garages with the dream of building their own car unfortunatelythey are long forgotton but still a part of automobile history
