<BR> i fucked up the shutter speed on a bunch of these museum photos, an now im kickin myself, too many cool cars turned out blury
So ironic, I vacation in socal and do nothing but car shows and museums. I live in Michigan and went to woodward last week but couldnt be bothered this week.. Damn next time ask around one of us woulda been happy to have you cruisin with us.
Dick Smiths roadster at the museum...I first saw it in 1976 in Phoenix at an outdoor car show.....what a killer car. When he sold it to the museum, he got big money for the time, but I'll bet he's sorry now!!!!
Had a great time, very nice day weather wise until later. I saw Rudy's roadster, for the the first time which was cool. And a few other cool cars, there was a black A-V8 highboy roadster with a white top holy moly that was cool. Course the only pictures I got was of the transformers cars for my kid
cruisin the strip.. another minivan in the background although i didnt have my car i got to ride in a buddy's plymouth belvedere friday nite. not really a tradtional rod but pushing 450 horses, it was a blast rumbling around ridin shotgun i was bummedout i didnt take any pictures of it. meant to on the actual cruise saturday but it broke a rocker in his driveway so he didnt bring it
If I ever end up one of those people sitting in a folding chair, behind my hot rod.... shoot me. Please.
I know this is Wackypedia but it's info none-the-less. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_TG500
There was a lot of nice stuff cruising BUT, there was way too many Pontiac Solstic (SP), Chevy SSRs and Prowlers traveling around in their little "look at us" groups. Its like they were afraid to cruise by themselves because then they wouldnt be seen. But by far the group that really made me say WTF! was the Yellow Mustang Club about three years ago. Must have been about 30 of them, all 1979 or newer, cruising down Woodward in a group.
Did anyone see that Scarab? Big silver thing that looked like a bloated VW Beetle? There was a really nice '57 Chevy Gasser and the Pan-American cars were neat... I had fun as usual.
It's that whole 'safety in numbers' theory. Travelling alone they would surely get their asses beat on a regular basis! Vance
I saw the Scarab roll by as I was setting up Saturday morning. I couldn't believe my eyes!! I wanted to run for my camera but didn't want to look away. Truly amazing sight!! Did anybody get a shot of it rolling down the ave? the nose high '57 was a treat. He rumbled by our spot at least 10 times. The best part of the day was at the end. We had a buddy bring a '69 Chevelle pure strip car running 730hp NA. As he pulled out of the parking lot he stabbed it hard. Damn near pulled tire. I am still shaking with excitment. It's a miracle the neighbors windows didn't blow... Gotta love it!!
