Ive been lurking for about a week or two now and its finally time to introduce myself.

My name is Jonathan Bergeron, born and raised in the ghetto armpit of the world...Lawrence Massachusetts. Ive come to learn as much as I can about 2 hopeful project cars that I am considering purchasing. Please understand that I might ask a few strange questions... please understand that my automotive back round is from making fast and functional Honda's. Please don't mistake me for some stupid ricer kid, its not like that I assure you.

The first car I'm interested in is a 28 Dodge Brothers 4 door. Its complete in every way, cranks, and runs mint for its age. My only concern is that I'm only interested in chopping this mofo and destroying what it has been kept out of the publics eye for so long to protect.

Heres a couple picture.. Again, I am only interested in buying this. It happens to be owned by a good friend of mine. The price tag is $7k.

The second car I'm interested in purchasing is a 53? Ford Pickup. I don't have pictures now, but I will very soon. Its a forgotten project car that still has a lot of work to be done. I won't feel so bad beating the shit out of this one. haha

I hope to learn alot here.

Went back today and snapped these. Im pretty sure its a 53 or 54. The first thing I will probably do is reverse the motor work that had been done and throw a flat head back into this beast. Second thing I will probably do is find a more authentic steering column and wheel to match.

Hes asking 4k with everything and parts.

Welcome!I'm from Mass too.As far as the projects go,I would jump on the pickup and keep the small block but loose the column.I wouldn't even consider the Dodge, but thats just me.

    Thanks.

Yeah I'm favoring the Ford pretty hard right now. Especially after seeing it again today. The owner has an identical truck and so has a couple parts lying around here and there.

Well the meeting went very well. In just a few short weeks the truck will be home. Im just trying to make some room by selling some of my other projects and motors lying around.

By the grille that looks to be a 53. The cabs on 53-55 are the same for the most part. I did learned not to long ago though that the 53 has a factory ident down by the passenger floor board. Not to be biased because I own one but the truck is easier to build hands down. Parts, resources, shows, and general information will be easier to come by. I visit another board Ford-truck.com. They have a 48-60 Forum where owners swap info. Check it out as well. IF there is anything I can help you with shoot me a pm. Been missing with this ole trucks since 88'. I to would keep the small ford engine. You will enjoy the truck more.

GreaseKulture.com will be up and running October 1st. Its all for all vehicle makes and models. From the old man with 49 Merc, to the kid with 00 Civic.

But more important, its for the true automotive enthusiast. The ones who works a full time job to make ends meet. The ones who consider them selfs weekend wrenchers. The ones who aren't afraid to do there own oil change for Christ sakes.

Fakers will always weed them selfs out.

Its good to find a place that feels like home.

Ive been on numerous forums for many different reasons, mostly just checking the people out that I would be in communication with. An to tell you the truth, theres not alot of people who can go home at night and say they feel accomplished with the work they did that day. Not one of them can say they had a hard days work.

But I find myself here more and more because I realize that some people here actually work hard, maintain their families, and still have time to do what they love. People who truly are passionate about there cars and can find and Ol'Skool piece of shit rust box and be able to see something that nobody else can. People who are proud of themselfs and their work and it shows.

So thats why I think I found a new home. I hope to share my project with everyone and learn what I can.

you are welcomed to send me an ad for my newsletter for the stuff you wanna sell- I have about 2100 people on my mailing list- lots of local people - and might be able to help you sell stuff. Its free by the way, I just do it to help people out- I know how hard it is to sell stuff sometimes if no one knows you have it.
