I need to find a closeup photo of the 1935 Lencki Indy 500 engine. It started life with a Galivan block, traded hands about 25 years ago. Who has it now?
5 main bearing crank.... wow, what I would give to know what it is and to get my hands on it! I'm thinking an Ardun head, dry sump oiling system... and run it at Bonneville! Woohooo! Sam.
Well I'm not sure what it is, but you can bet it has some Ford Grandparents. To many parts of it look Ford.--TV
Bluto, If there are no markings on it and you're trying to figure out what it is, you might give these guys at Speedy Bill's place a hollar. I'll bet they know. Larry T BTW, it kinda resembles the Riley on their website, but that's a guess too. http://www.museumofamericanspeed.com/
I think you're correct! he really is tormenting us! so cool that you can't stop looking and wondering what it COULD be. maybe if he had posted some better pics we would have a chance of guessing but he posted just enough to whet our appetites! need some details to figure it out. bore/stroke rod sizes etc. I'm guessing he's hiding all the trick bits that will tell us what it is.
I don't think Bill has one-0-these I have a story from my young friend got it from Tomorrow I'm gonna post the rest of the stuff Tom you know exactly what I'm gonna do with this! DON'T TELL ...JEZZZZ
Bluto drive cars beyond mortal comprehension on rice paper. Cause Poles to spontaneously manufacture Bugattis. Have bicycle that WALK!!
Bluto, YOU are my F'in hero. You are the undisputed king of cool old shit. I am not worthy........... Brad
Tomorrow? Tomorrow I'm driving to Bonneville and going straight to El Mirage from there. There's no tomorrow. There's only next week. Tomorrow? Wayno
Actually the friend I got this from has way WAY more cool shit than me And know's where it is. I lost track of this in the move and have been looking for it for a couple weeks You all may remember the ''Make your own barn find'' thread I'm still looking for tires we own! It's that bad....... AND everyone that helps us has left for the fields to get the crops in... HONEST I got the bikes from him too: 1930's Silverkings....... that's Mrs Bluto's in front.......he had a matched pair of Aluminum Frame 1930's bikes AND the So Cal tank.........
I KNOW where the Socal tank came from... He has some FANTASTIC stuff.... But.. WHAT THE HECK IS that ENGINE?????? Keven
Ya I know what your going to do with it!!!!! But I won't tell until you squeeze the cat outa the BAG--------------TV PS or should I say hold it by the back legs for a while.
Shouldn't you be over getting a crank? AND Some rods....... Good nite No tee shirts we're sold supporting this effort!
Akron??? HAL engine???? (((Hal Hosterman)))) ??? Oooops, I see that you've already stated that Hal's are aluminum... hmmmm, Can't wait to find out what it really is?? .
I thought you were on your way to the Reno air races, I'm still trying to figure out which way Bonneville is.--TV
