Hot off the press folks.............................. Spoke with Chris a few minutes ago, Andy is out of surgury! They were hoping to fuse into the other section but they had to remove it and fuse all of it ****TTTTTTTTTTTT, it was a success. Chris has 20 minutes to kill before they would let him in to see Andy so he wanted to have a yak and let you guys (and gals) know what is going on. This should be it for operations, they are going to see if he will breath on his own in few days, if so there will be no trake(sp) or feeding tube. Id say they could call that being on the back stretch. So if you have parts for the build and they are not shipped yet....please do so, or contact me and i will get them sent from my end. Awsome! Got busy yesterday and didn't check in, great way to start the day. Andy, you got a whole lot of new friends to meet next August, get well little buddy. Sounds like you 'bout have it licked. GV
This just in............................... Well, sorry for not e-mailing everybody tuesday nite . Andy made it through the last surgery with the fusion. It took about 8 hours as they had to do some bone reconstruction in there before the put in the rods. He came up to intensive care about 6pm. He was stable but his heart rate was very low. They said it may be from the sedation. Andy was not himself,he looked sicker compared to when he came out of the first 2 surgerys. I knew he wasnt right but figured it was related to the anestetic. Around 7 pm they took him down for a cat scan to make sure the sugery was o.k and the fusion was good in his back. Andy came back up waiting the report when the brain surgeons call up and said were on our way Andys brain was swelling in all ventricals its happening fast and pressure is building.We have to put in a tube in the top of his brain to relieve the pressure right away then we will try to find the problem.Rosanne took this pretty hard but stayed positive. As soon as the pressure came off his heart rate started to rise and his body temperature started to come up. I was relieved.Doctors say its called hydrocephalus where are port or duct becomes blocked and cant relieve the fluid from the brain. they guess it started from the first surgery and became noticable on this ct scan. I knew something wasnt right because I know Andy. We have to wait 2 days to see if it clears on its own.If not Andy will require further surgery to install a shunt in his brain to remove excess fliud, it would be permanent.He is stable again now. Opens his eyes every now and then and gives me the Thumbs up. I will keep you posted. As i get more info i will keep you posted Leon

Sounds like Andy just needs the Lord to finish up with a little head porting work... Lord Jesus, you've brought this young guy this far, please open the port so his brain can drain as you originally designed it... thanks for Andy and the HAMB.
Be strong, I can't imagine what you're going through, I don't think I could take it. You have my utmost respect and I want to shake Andy's hand one day.
Andy....Good news! hang tuff lil buddy. As a side note....I spoke to BenD yesterday(or the day before. can't remember) I am going to meet Ben In Buffalo and bring your parts back. We will then figure out how to get them to the Rock. Leon....you have my number....we can make arraigments. Jeff
