I'm hoping for Dave but I figure "ex-gang banger makes good." is more marketable and a better feel good story for the network suits. Plus he seems like a pretty talented guy. Dave deserves it the most, and I really hope he gets the job. It's definitely not going to be that cry baby with the 140 h.p. Saturn after his tantrum last week. Who get's that pissed when somebody tells them they have the wrong fuel regulator. What a drama queen.
Dave doesn't need to work for Shine! He has the skills he just needs the customers and the will to turn loose one of his creations. Maybe some more equipment?
I was hopeing little man gets it but man the ex-gang banger gets down on the work he does great work. But maybe the hamber will win little man let us know, its alright you can tell us little man
I asked him awhile back, but he could not devulge that info. He said that if he told me, he would have to kill me.
dave has the *****inest rods, i seen em' in R&C wayy before the show, i was pleasently surprised,, an it really doesn't matter who wins, cuz in a way theyre already winners,, dave should have his own one hour special!
My guess goes with Little Man. He has mucho skill and he has shop environment experience. The ex gang banger is a touching story and he has skills, but his past is going to hurt him. I think legal complications of his probation would prevent him from meeting the SoCal responsibilities as far as touring around. Which is what the winner will eventually do. Also, Little Man has the family thing going for him as well. Wasn't there a SoCal function not too long ago and Little Man was the one who showed up?
well littleman was the only one with jimmy last week at a new socal speed shop... but then again i dunno...
I dig Dave and his work as i also dig Richie but hopefully it will go to Dave. His rides that he has built are top notch and he should go far with or without Jimmy Shine and SOCAL.
I agree 100%. He could start by selling me Death's Doorstep and setting up his own shop. A man can dream can't he. Doc.
LOL Yet you clicked on a thread about the POS show? Yea, there's a ton of drama, but is there another show on at that time of night with hot rods? Even a little is better than none at all. If you turn down the volume, the drama seems to go away.
Network suits don't run SO-CAL, Pete Chapouris does. He's a smart guy, isn't in it for the quick buck like some others tied in with TV shows. He will be able to look himself in the mirror after TV has come and gone- can't say the same for some others. I know you will NEVER see SO-CAL building "coorporate" abortions with employees bashing its ugliness before it's even done. Just what I have seen from the inside.
Just because Dave spent the summer at home in OH with his family working on/in his own garage does not mean he wasn't offered the position....or another opportunity.
I think Dave will be offered the job, hands down. I doubt that he will take it though. Hell, he doesn't need SoCal nearly as bad as they need him
