Is the sending unit from a 1965 mustang ,the same as from a 1963 t-bird..

Question:can i use the sending unit from a 1965 mustang in a 1963 t-bird ? i looked on line and they look the same and i know some parts are interchangeble between the the thunderbird and mustang ..And there is a big price differnce about 30 bucks..trying to save some cash..any info would help..

Is this the gas tank sending unit? I don't think so, I think that the t-bird has a bigger tank which would probably change the resistance needed to read the level right. But, Hell, I've been wrong before.
