Andy, Keep "Get 'er done !" You are a true example to us all. Our continued prayers and hopes are with you. 41 Dave
I've been busier than a one legged cat trying to bury turds on a frozen pond lately, and all of my projects have been sidelined, but I'm still thinking of and pulling for Andy. Way to go kiddo! See you at MoKan '08!
The latest in the struggle that Andy is going through................ Hi everyone, Andy had a rough Day yesterday. He has bad headaches and alot of throwing up. They say it is from Hydrophelus (fluid). The Doctors say they will be able to regulate it alot better once the shunt goes in this morning. It will take 2 days to monitor Its flow. They are hoping and thinking this is Andys problem and the shunt will resolve it. They say if it dont ,its back to the drawing board to see what else could be causing the sickness and headaches. Thanks I will keep you posted. Chris
If ya wanna be real picky about this. Actually it's about 2 1/2 as Newfoundland is on a 1/2 hour time difference. BB
Just got back from K'Zoo and read about the little problem and new surgery. Hope all is well after this one, and as corny as it has become GET R Done indeed Andy. Shane T.
It amazes me the courage shown by kids in Andy's situation. My grandson had a few eye surgeries when he was very young. Minor stuff compared to Andy's. It caused us to spend more than a few hours in the waiting area at the childrens Hospital in Oklahoma City. I left counting my blessings and praying for all of those kids, heros, everyone of them. Prayers for Andy this A.M.. Expect miracles! GV
Just off the phone with Chris............. Andy just out of surgury........Should with any luck be the last time he is one the kid has to face. He opened his eyes and looked around but sounded like he was very tired....... as it is easily understood. He is going to have a trake for a while, not what Andy wanted.....more like.........Andy hated the thought. But like anything, it will make him fight harder to get it reversed. He is having headaches, geesh............i wonder why....I can say he is tougher than i am, i think he is the toughest person i know. Chris will e-mail later tonite and i will post as soon as i see it. Andys mind in still on the HAMB and his car, and his dad once again said he believes it is the main drive in keeping Andy going. Regards Leon
Okay Andy - Let's hope this stuff is behind you now and you can focus your amazing energies on building that car...See you in MoKan!
Andy shouldn't have as much as a broken fingernail the rest of his life with everything he's been through. Keep fighting the fight, Andy.
Andy, I can't wait to see you sitting behind the wheel of your ride. I also can't wait to shake your hand and hug your neck. You're one heck of a young man. Hang tuff bro!!
woke up this morning around 3:00 am for no reason. I remembered Andy and started to pray real hard. Guess thats why I got woke up, It was a "spiritual" reminder of what is important
Latest from Chris Hi everybody, Andy had his last surgery today and it went well. The shunt is in place and regulated to the lowest setting. They say they want to see how he does on that first. He will have constant ct scans to monitor the ventricals in his brain. If they swell with fluid they will turn up the regulator and drain more off. This is how they will get the flow setting right. He awoke with a bad head and some nausea but it is controlled with meds.It may just be post op because of the anestetic and the trauma he has to his head with the surgerys. Time will tell. I think we are on the home stretch now and it is up to Andy to start recovering. The breathing tube will come out tommorrow and he will be tested to see if he will require the tracheostomy. I heard through the g****vine that they are afraid of losing his airway with the nerve damage that is done in his throat area when they pull the tube so they are leaning to do the trach first and then pull the tube.He will have the trach in his neck and a feeding tube in his side until we are sure the nerve injuries are healed and there is no risk of losing his airway and he can swallow again. Thanks for all your prayers and keep praying for our boy as he needs them all to help him heal. I will keep you posted. Chris
Thanks Leon, we will continue thinking and praying for Andy. Hey, Andy your on the home stretch "Get er done". Brendan.
The shunt sounds like a turbo waste gate. The feeding tube might be fuel injection? You'll get through this Andy.
Get that turbo off there and fit a 8-71, that will speed up his recovery. All the best Andy and your family mate. Thanks Leon for keeping us updated.
Just stay off the nitrous oxide! I think he's had enough medical grade stuff to last a life time! Hang in there Andy, you have lots of H.A.M.B.ers praying for you.
From Boones (using KustomBuick's system) this is such great news... Wishing Andy the best and hope you have a speedy recovery... Chris.. hang in there.. I can only imagine how tired and stressed you must be from this...
30,001? Carefull now he has a headache. May God stay at your side 'till you're through this Andy and family
