At what point does a bunch of junkers become a 'Collection'? That collection has certainly reached that point.

.........fucking incredible doesn't cover it! I believe I've found my retirement gig....couldn't get thru all the pics though, my hand kept cramping from jumpin' back 'n forth to check out details. Did ya see the sedan with the 110 outlet in the rear end [of all the things to notice]?...old racers are too cool....man, what a selection.
Somebody keep up with this thing. I'll give whatever human body parts it takes to get in on it.

Seems like about 1/3 of them are covered by a cut off '40s car roof. Does that mean that he had 33% more cars at one time?

You just found a link to the mystery!! Give the porta-pooper people a call, and ask them where the hell this place is.

mopared on eBay did a search on this, and this is what he found:

"When I do an IP lookup for www.oliverscars.com, I get this:
The IP address of www.oliverscars.com is 205.178.145.65
This host is located in Canada

I took that IP and traced it to the ISP:
This IP address belongs to vux.bos.netsolhost.com
This host is located in Canada

However, once I take this information and do a WHOIS on it, I get this information:
    Registrant:
    Piontek, Stuart
    15850 Arnold Dr.
    Sonoma, CA 95476
    US

    Domain Name: OLIVERSCARS.COM

    Administrative Contact, Technical Contact:
    Piontek, Stuart stuartpiontek@earthlink.net
    15850 Arnold Dr.
    Sonoma, CA 95476
    US
    415 850 1303

    Record expires on 07-Aug-2008.

Obviously, someone is either "cloaking" their domain or we have someone doing the hosting/registering work for this Oliver person from California."

Google Stuart Piontek: An interior designer who has done a few projects for HGTV. I am getting more confused instead of enlightened.

I was surprised that the thread went this long without someone saying that it was an urban myth, or photoshopped, or a junkyard in ElSalvador... :D

  12. This junkyard is near McAllester, Oklahoma.... some of the cars even have Oklahoma plates. This has been on the HAMB before, about 3 months ago..

how much do you think something like that would go for? realistically.

That could be a HUGE opportunity for the right people.

Ok, let me jump in here, I used to drive the highway that runs in front of the yard 41fastback found on google earth. I'd just about bet the farm that it's not the location. The area that is in the background of those pictures is flat with cedar trees scattered around and the corresponding area shown on google earth is fairly hilly. My uncle lives about 6-8 from the google earth site, I'll call him tomorrow and have him take a short drive to lay eyes on the site. Then we'll know for sure whether to keep looking.

Time capsule ? at least 50% from their pic's is massive rust.
The trees looks like it is in canada not sure though and a e-mail would fix that. Though you would be buying the land too.
    Thanks for the eye candy..wow

  19. Well, yeah, but to a california guy a rust spot the size of a quarter is massive. Trust me, I hear from them all the time.

i would like to get my grubby little dick beatters all over that
"1935 Cadillac V-12 Fleetwood (Style 35-6033 S Body Number 288 by Fleetwood) Purchased from Evelyn Smith."

that is a pretty rockin list...

  22. And if you do that with my site you will find it's hosted in California.
I've toyed with moving it to a server in NC.
    What's your point?

The Kodak pictures have a label that says something like "Stuarts cars" or "Stuarts album". Stuart is likely one of the heirs to the collection.
Looking forward to the results of the drive by.

Well, it's been a couple of days and no answer. Has 41woodie put up
the farm for this place? Maybe he's not telling us until it's a done deal.

Wow, all of that scrap metal would make some really neat new Hondas!

I'd like that aluminum Lincoln though. I've always wanted to polish one and stick a 430 in it. .

A lot of the cars have license plates that begin with 5, which meant the county was the 5th largest county in OK back then (before they started using letters to designate counties in OK). The 5th largest county in 1950 was Garfield. The largest city in Garfield County is Enid. I did a search and found a Stuart Pointek in Enid. So it's likely in the Enid area. Enid area Hambers, get to work!

There's also the possibility that it's in Kay County, east of there, which has Ponca City and Blackwell. Kay County was the 5th largest OK county in 1960. I remember hearing all my life about a huge salvage near Blackwell that had loads of vintage tin.
