  1. I'd be interested in a 37 sedan.

I had one of these trucks. actually it was a '38 with a '41 front-They may be more rare than a coupe but the coupes sell for way more money. I am only 5"7 and I was pretty cramped in it with no firewall setback. I sold it about 7 years ago for about $28,000. stock frame with a mustang II with stock leaves out back and a 400. I sure miss that truck!

Hey Swede, man, I was just poking fun at ya! That's all, and I was speaking as a Kentuckian in my post. It was just for laughs, you are too easy. Anyhow, If you do get the 41 Willy's pick up, congratuations, because 41 Willy's are right up there with 32 Fords, 49-51 Mercs in desireability. The 41 I believe, has a two piece grille and the 40 has a one piece grille, or vice versa. Just do a gasser search and you'll see a bunch. BTW You shouldn't have a problem getting it because aren't yall allrelated out there anyway? Ha ha ha ha.....Hatfield, or McCoy?.......

  4. At all the info I ever found on willys, I was under the impression that willys only made roughly 7000 of each model of each year. There records are virtually none compared to records ford kept. But all in all, in 1938 - 7000 trucks, 7000 coupes, 7000 sedans etc.... Then again in 1939- 7000 of each.

So if it's real & not the fourwheel drive version, and it's a truck then your looking at 1 of probly 4500 still in existance for that particular model for that particular year.

There's more glass cars than they ever produced in the reall willys factory Carl Hagan

According to the Standard Catalog of American Light Duty Trucks Willys-Overland made only 1122 trucks of all types in a production year of 63,465 total vehicles made for 1937.
W-O made only 1889 trucks of all types in a production year of 26,286 total vehicles made for 1938.
W-O made only 1634 trucks of all types in a production year of 1
    18,150 total vehicles for 1939.
W-O made only 2291 trucks of all types in a production year of 32,930 total vehicles for 1940. This includes 1st production of Jeeps.
W-O made only 2031 trucks of all types in a production year of 28,014 total vehicles for 1941 including Jeeps.
W-O made a production year of only 11,919 total vehicles for 1942 before civilian production was halted. No truck production numbers indicated.

That's not a heck of a lot of any year and then how many were Pickups? Panels? Stakebeds? Cowl & Chassis?Cab & Chassis?

You sure don't- I teach art but it seems you need a history lesson. If you live in Kentucky your not a Yankee dumb ass. Kentucky is south of the Mason Dixon Line.
Come on Swede anyone North of I-10 is a Yankee! LOL All kidding aside if it realy is a 41 i would buy it sight unseen. If it is a jeepster buy it paint the wheels red and put it on ebay as a rat rod.

    I'll write it again.

The Brooding Swede called me on the phone and told me that his '41 Willys turned out to be a 50's Willys Jeep truck.

No '41 Willys barn find here....

    All this drama for nothing.

Still a funny assed thread. :D

Heres a picture of my 1941 Willys truck that I had in 1967. It had a 392 Hemi motor, Pushbutton Torqueflite Trans, Chevy rearend. Use to run low 12 secs runs all day long. Truck only weighed 2450 lbs with the heavy old hemi motor. Back in those days you didnt have to register it commercial if it weighed under 2500lbs. It was loads of fun to drive, not much room in the cab with the engine setback. I wish I still had it.

  17. A couple of months ago I went to look at a yard of stuff for sale, I was told there was a Willys there so I was 99% sure it was going to be a 50's truck. I was shocked to find this sedan and I told them right away I wanted it, price was fair for both parties. I was to pick it up and pay on Saturday (it was Wednesday). Late Friday I get a call telling me someone in the family wanted it and the sale was off, Man was I bummed!! By combiming this sedan with the coupe bodyshell I already have I could have been on the road pretty quick.

G'day Kev, Should've loaded her up on Wednesday night..:D
here in OZ there were dozens of prewar and early wartime Willy's sedans, utes and some coupes. A mate spent most of the nineties buying every one he could lay his hands on and shipping them to the USA. $$$$$$$ :D
